    Trying my luck. PS3.

Anyone have a service/repair manual for the Playstation 3? Wlling to pay or swap for it.

Needless to say this is a matter of life or death.

Yeh, I know it's a long shot but ya never know.

    Cheers J.

    Ha!

I'd had already browsed to the manual for PS3 (PostScript3).
    Oops. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I think I have some stuff on it. I'll look for it.

Depending on the problem, look it up on Youtube.

My PS3 had the RLOD (Red Light of Death) and managed to find a video which was called the YLOD fix, but it worked none the less.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

It's not my PS3, I'm an Xbox lad. Was hoping to help out a mate. He says the blue ray drive wont open. Sounds like it tries to then gets stuck on something.

Cheers for the replies though, I will check out YouTube some time today.

                HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I just fixed my mates Xbox 360 that had the exact same problem. It turned out that his youngest son (18 months) had opened the drive and stuffed pop corn in to it which stopped the laser from dropping right down so that the tray lock would disengage.

With the PS3's there are some rollers that pinch the sides of the disk and then roll to insert or eject the disk. Check those out.
