    Bizhub 420 lines on drum

Went out to replace drum and blade on this machine because client was complaining of lines on the drum. When we got there we surely saw the lines on the drum . Went ahead and cleaed the entire imaging unit replace the drum and the cleaning blade, started to make copies and the lines came back ! Now we have the same type of lines on the new drum. I do not see anything in this drum assembly that would cause these lines . Has anyone seen this happen before?

Look very closely at the transfer coronna wires. It could be hung up on the grid. Next time don't post a sky shot.

Looks to me that you have paper dust in the dev unit, dump the dev and vac out the tank ( remove the ATDC sensor before you vac) add new dev and all should be OK.
Please do not PM me without asking first.

A quick look at developer brush will show if the "white lines" are coming from there. Alson replace DS-Rolls.

Looks like the charge corona wire or unit need to be replaced to me.

I'm pretty sure a charge issue wouldn't produce blank lines. I transfer problem, a dirty printhead or crud in the dev would.

                  DS roll kit is 200-362.

This is just a 7020 developing unit..... but agree, you should be able to tell by looking at the sleeve if it is the culprit.

Arggh! Replaced drum and blade. Cleaned out dv unit and cleaned mag roller. Lines came back! They are etched into the drum! I saw them on the mag roller before cleaning and not after so I am stumped!

If the drum is actually physically scratched, then something in the cleaning/drum unit is rubbing the drum or the transfer/sep unit black guides aren't installed correctly and are rubbing the drum.

Like others have said, make sure the black plastic guides on the transfer unit are properly seated, they'll do a number on your drum if not seated properly.

                            Regards!

Replaced everything and checked transfer guide, even put a dot of super glue to hold it for sure. All looked great for about 4 days and now client says lines are back!!!

                              argggghhhhh!!!!
