Re: C3110 doing mangenta dots
Let me see if I understand, you put another Magenta IU in and the dots disappear and you want to know if anyone has a clue what it good be? Didn't you already answer that question when you swapped the Mag unit and dots disappeared? Bad magenta IU? -
Re: C3110 doing mangenta dots
The parts yield that you are basing your assumptions on is based on 4% image fill of each color. If perchance, you were printing 7% fill of magenta you would reach parts yield sooner.
This begs the question what percentage image fill were you printing?
There are many other factors affecting developer life:
How many prints per run?
How much image fill?
How many years has the unit been in the machine?
Are you using genuine toner?
The short answer is: Just change the unit and stop thinking about it. Most of the factors that I've mentioned are things that you cannot affect. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: C3110 doing mangenta dots
Yes, that is the same situation like i had.
And even if you put new IU you could expect very soon same problem.
I assume toner and developer in IU during long standby apsorb moisture and that effect you can see as color spots on paper.
I think only solution will be to move printer in better place with normal room temperature.
Code:Operating environment Temperature 10°C to 30°C (50°F to 86°F) (Fluctuations of no more than 10°C (18°F) within an hour.) Humidity 15% to 85% (Fluctuations of no more than 10% within an hour.)
