Good afternoon all.

Is there any brand/model of MFP that will allow direct import and export of address book data into .csv files without the need of proprietary software?

Thank you.

Since you have multiple rows of items in your file NS doesn't know if you want them all in 1 transaction or separate transactions. Since you are doing ADD here, you need to provide a Document# or ExternalID that is the same on all rows that you want grouped together onto 1 transaction. If you have auto-numbering turned on and you disallow overrides, then the Document# you import here won't actually be saved onto the transaction (because it will get an auto number instead) but the CSV importer will use the Document# to know what rows you want batched together onto the same 1 transaction.

many of them will allow export import, but not between different brands. and some won't allow if the age difference is a few years different. i don't know of any that uses actual csv file.

I don't know about other manufactures but Ricoh has a way to convert their WIM export file to a csv file. I had to use it once for a customer who wanted to have the same address book on the their MP C3503s and on their computers that were using LAN Fax.

if you can print out the address list you can take a photo then use the excel option of import data from image

it will OCR the text and then you can make your own CSV file

Sharp can do it natively on the newer units (CR4.5 at least).

Old method with proprietary format

New method with standard CSV
