savin 2522/ rocoh aficio 1022 fuser code

I'm working on a savin 2522 that only from a cold power up throws a
sc-542 code which is a fuser temp warm-up error.
the fuser temp does not reach the stand-by temp within 20 seconds
after the main switch is turned on.
When I do the hard fuser reset (sp5-810) and turn the machine off and
on the machine comes to ready and will run all day, but the next morning
    it throws the code.
Parts replaced so far, entire fuser, the harness the fuser plugs into,
power supply board and main board.
Still throws the code every morning.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

I've also experianced this with the ricoh 35's and 45's. SC 542 on those was mostly related to useing aftermarket hot rollers that had a thicker wall and coating on the roller. This does not allow heat transfer to happen fast enough and causes the machine to code out. Because it's already somewhat warm, when you reset the code and power up the second time it will go ready.

      Ricoh Error Code SC542

Hello this is Techcec new member,,SC542 Errow Code Means==( Fuser Temperature warm up errer,HOT ROLLER WARM UP ERROR.
Did you change the Thermofuse,if you did used a volt meter check for continuity accross the fuser lamp could be a source of the problem.
When I was working at Lanier World Wide I found out that some of the thermofuse and thermisters may vary a little but yetstill they are for the same machine...Take a look at ERROR CODE SC541=fuser Thermister Open Hot Roller Thermister Open.It would not heart to replace the thermister.

Got no help for you on the ancient analog 9122. Sorry, anytime we see one of those we make sure it never copies again.

Hey there - got this SC542 error on an AP3800CMF - I am actually a network admin trained on parts replacement for Ricoh as I do all the installs on networks, but not actual troubleshooting. Where do I find aftermarket parts to fix this and where do we do this reset ? All the Ricoh dealers in central FL now are in together in lawsuits, so there is no local help here.

The SC needs does need to be cleared in service mode but it's likely to re-occur if there is a problem.
(SC542 relates to the fusing unit's thermistor).

Is it just the printer you have or do you have the copier feature expander attached (the optional scanner unit)?

I cannot even figure out how to get into the service mode on this darn thing -

thanks for you reply ! I am here all night.

                        Ahh right.

Press clear (yellow button) followed by 1, 0, 7 then hold down the stop (orange button) till it enters service mode.

Press on 'Copy SP' then key in '5810' and press '#' and then press on 'excute' to reset the service code.

Then just turn the machine off then on.

If SC542 re-occurs the fuser's thermistor will need a inspection.

OK, great - I will try that as soon as I leave the client I am at now.
Is this the same for an SC552 ? I know that is pressure roller, but same way to clear? or different keys/numbers?

Reason I ask is I just ran into an SC552 on a CL7000 at a client today ! what the hell is up with that.

The reset is the same, however the fusers are not. Also you can get individual parts from Ricoh for fusers, but the cl7000 and ap3800 fusers come complete as a maintenance kit.

P.S. whats the lawsuit about ?????

Hey there - you are the man ! code cleared and returned !
Email me - sabankosz@vmgtech.com if you accept donations.

Anyway - down here in Central Florida copier companies like to sell copiers to clients and then pickup their old units. They say they will pay off their old lease and then never do. Yet, they charge the client the trade in and then make the profit on the deal and the lease payoff and they keep it for their own profits. Then the client calls in and they say there is a delay in processing, and they will make their payments for them until it is "cleared up" please change the address to them. And away they go, hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars.

You will ready about them soon in the papers - I can get you more info as it goes public.
