    C280 Black Issue

Have a c280 with Black issues.

Has p-9 and p-21 errors. Also has had a couple of C2557 errors.

Black hardly prints on the page.

Black drum, developer and itb have been swapped out to no effect.

toner is getting to the black developer tube but not going any further.

Any ideas would be great. Thanks

Have you tried toner replenish in service mode for Black?

Is there enough toner in cartridge? Is it OEM cartridge?

Are the motors for dev. turning?
.OK Google! ... will I need Berrocca this morning?

Make sure the dev unit is rotating .There is a clutch for the black developer unit. These have been known to fail. This would explain why the toner feeds from the hopper but doesnt go into thr dev unit.
The clutch is mounted on the drum drive unit but is available as a spare part.....

Tried toner replenish in service mode. Tube of developer fills but goes no where.

Toner cartridge seems like there is enough in there and is also a konnica toner.

Not sure about drive but that is my next stop. Will swap out black dev clutch and then try HV board if that doesn't work.

        Will keep you posted.

        Thanks for suggestions

Replaced the Black Dev Clutch and has fixed the issue. P codes have gone and black printing fine.

          Thanks for your help

jarwil: what part number did you order? I don't see the bulletin. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I grabbed the clutch out of another machine. But it had a part number of A0EDM20000 on it.

If you look in the parts manual in the main drive unit there is another clutch there with the same part number.

Have ordered 2 of these clutches for the other machine and one for stock.

              Hope this info helps.
