    Bizhub C452 Scanning Quality Issue

    All scans show fine pink lines over entire image across scan direction (parallel with exposure lamp). Shows up in scans and copies, but print jobs are fine, indicating problem is in the scanner area. Doesn't matter if original is scanned using feeder or placing on glass. See image.

    I have never had a scanning issue like this before, so this had me scratching my head. I did the obvious old school stuff (clean mirrors, etc.) which had no effect.

    CCD? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

      Reseat your data ribbon cables, I would suspect the scanner relay board before the CCD--looks more like a data issue to me.

          No, the customer has had the unit for about a year with no problems, had not moved it or made any changes, and the scan issue was the reason for the service call.

            No malfunction codes, no P codes, unit functions normally in every way except for the scan issue.

              Thanks, I'll give the ribbon cables a shot before I start replacing boards.

                Perhaps the "Lines Of Shame"? =^..^=
                If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                  Not Lines of shame...looks like a filter problem in the CCD. This MFP has been around for some time, wouldn't surprise me to see boards going bad. Emujo
