    [Misc] HL-L3210CW print via USB but not via Wireless AP

    Good afternoon all.

    I'm trying to set up this machine to print via network instead of USB, but I can't understand why it just won't.

    I've tried with two different Access Points - one of them just two meters away from the machine - and tried different drivers and tcp/ip and wsd configurations. The job won't clear from the windows queue and I'll get the windows error message that the job couldn't be printed.

    I can ping the machine and access via web browser without any problems.

    Curiously when I go to the web browser and to the "list/reports" section, I can print the machine configuration and test page, but if I try to print the network configuration, no page will come out (it does if I print from the operation panel).

    Any hints? Thanks.

          Print driver - Tried with both Brother print drivers that come in the driver package (GDI and BScript, I believe) and also the standalone driver (gdi).

          Network activity lights - it's a WLAN only machine (no LAN port) so no lights that I can think of. But the network status sheet tells me "Connection OK" and gives out the network data (SSID, Mac address, communication mode, auth type, encryption and network channel). I also can access via web browser, so the network is definitely up.

          IP scheme and dns - All via dhcp and consistent with the rest of the equipments.

          I tried to do the operation panel network reset without any success. Is there any way of doing a "harder" reset via maintenance mode? (I'm more of a Ricoh guy, don't have much experience with Brother machines, but on the Ricoh machines there are some service settings that could cause this kind of problem).

              Maintenance Mode 01 is full reset
              Maintenance Mode 99 afterwards for reboot.

              You could also try Network reset in settings.

              Did you try to print with USB? If that doesnt work either there could be a problem with the Main PCB.

                  The machine prints fine via USB.

                  Network reset in settings didn't solve the problem.

                  Haven't tried full reset in maintenance yet - what does it clear exactly? Any chance the machine will stop printing via USB by running it?

                      Yes it will still print fine from USB

                          Have you updated the firmware? Try installing with iprint&scan.

                              unless it is something new that brother is doing. i have never seen one that doesn't come with a network port on the back. if you have a static IP set. turn the printer off. then ping that IP address to see if something else is trying to use the same address.

                                  Always turn off APIPA in TCP/IP settings, it's known to cause problems.
                                  Reset to factory settings saved me on few unlikely events.
