    C3350i High Frequency Noise

    Has anyone heard this noise:

High Frequency. Customer says it only happens with duplex print. But I'm not sure.

sounds fine to me.....but then I wear hearing aids, I love dealing with noisy machines , they always sound good to me....

Sounds like dry drum axle, try to lube it a bit.

Those thing are full of plastic on plastic bushes that can squeak or make a noise like that.

Lubricate every bushing and roller you can find (especially in the exit section).

I use an aerosol penetrating oil (not WD40 by the way), seems to cure noises quite well

in the C3350i and C4050i models it happens very often that the transfer belt exhaust system gets clogged and starts making these types of noises until it goes out of code.
Clean the exhaust system before it stops.

Yesterday I was there and first I printed the counter list. No noise. Then I printed the c-m-y-k gradiation pages (all 4 in one step you know). With cyan, yellow and magenta noise was there, with black not. Then I lubed all drum axes with oil
on front and rear end. Noise was still there. Then I tried with load check all motors and so on. No noise. Then no noise any more. My two colleagues who where there before me had the same issue. Noise was gone after some trying and testing.
Today customer phoned us. Noise is here again.

I've found that on occasion sometimes debris can cause it if its under the silicone flap. I've had a few drums get massive gouges in them in the bigger MFDs, havent heard anything about the C3000i series tho
