[Jamming] Kyocera P2040DN 4211, overlapping Paper

    Hi,

got some paper jams, first thought it only is a case of "rollers are dusty again", but after cleaning, it still would not want to stop jamming.

I am getting an 4211 Jam-Code, which would indicate the following:

But I don't think that this is the case, since my paper is overlapping in the rear of the printer (Attachment) (I guess sensor tries to see space between pages, but there is no space?)
If the fuser is slipping, it should leave more space and not less, or am I thinking in the wrong direction here?

I Checked the wrong "feed-solenoid" - this printer doesn't have a feed solenoid, it has a clutch. The solenoid is for the MP tray

By the way, how do those solenoids work? As far as I could see, it just throws a tooth into a plastic gear, but how does that stop the gear from rotating, if it is driven by a motor? Is there some kind of torque limiting that makes that possible?

I am guessing something with the feed-clutch / feed-assembly? Do those fail? And what parts of it?

The Printer has now about 20 000 Pages.

Any Ideas? Anything obvious I am missing?

//EDIT: Unless of course the first paper already slipped... mhh sometimes you just have to write it down.. :S

The only real problem with these units is the fuser. Search on here for fixes, as Kyocera has never rectified the issue with updated fusers.
    Hope that helps !

Especially this particular jam code. It's probably the fuser, even at only 20K prints. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

We have replaced hundreds of these fusers for this reason. Replace the fuser and the issue will be resolved just as others have posted. If you don't have a fuser handy, many times you can put the printer in quiet mode and the jamming will stop. This is only a temporary resolution that will last until the fuser can be replaced. The fuser will have to be replaced. We have seen it at 20K up to 80K. Most of it happens between 30-40K.

I wish I had a dollar for every time I've replaced the fuser because of this particular jam. Usually a J4211. From what I've been told, the spring on the sensor actuator, over time, becomes weak, and causes a delay in the "message" that the lead edge of the paper has entered the fuser. All the others who have responded are precisely correct. Replace the fuser and your troubles are over.

Sure! It is a common problem. I have a video for it too!
