That's probably the worst machine Lexmark every produced. One of our tech had the very situation you have and done the same as you and the problem was never solved. The machine was brought back to the shop here and I looked at it too and replaced the parts that he was working with and did not get anywhere.

I think initially, after the power strike, there was a fuser error, then after he replaced the fuser, he got the error you have now. There is a part called the tempreature and humidity sensor I would look at and replace. The bloody parts for this machine is very expensive too. When they are working good, the Lexmark quality are consistent and good, but when the give problems, they are a headache.

The newer machines are good, both colour and b/w.. We end up disposing of that machine and the rest we had, upgrading them as they faulted.

    40X6202
    Humidity sensor 66 dollars.

Also check the fuser for continuity of the lamps or whatever they use for heating to make sure the fuser is good and also the thermostats, before spending more on repairs

          I'll check that as well.
It's a definite possibility the power strike blew out a number of things.

I agree. But the issue is they just spent $1200 to replenish their toner, drum and waste container stock.

Oh, you can get parts from the lexmark parts store, but I was looking at the LV power supply and it cost 950 dollars. Wow, you could probably get a working parts machine for that price. plus other parts he put in. They should take up that cause with Lexmark as their machine throws a code and they[Lexmark ] have no answer for it. That is outrageous, especially in these times of connectivity.

This reminds me of another manufacturer that I stay away from if I can help it, and that is HP. Hp machine had error code that had dozens of possible faults, where you ended up spending tons to repair issues that was other than they suggested. Always , replace this and that , that just put money in their pockets and leave dealers with machines that nothing but headaches at times.
Just a rant here, don't mind me.

Thanks. I read this as well.
I'm giving the customer the option of digging further with parts or cutting their losses and moving into another machine.

but if it took a surge it could be a good number of issues. you fix one only for the next one to appear. have been down this road before. if they want to keep throwing money at the dinosaur hoping it will be fixed, that's up to them. i would highly recommend replacing this lemon. we have replaced all that we had in the field. except we have that one customer that won't do it. so im in the same boat. but that one works fine. they are aware if it goes down then.....
