[Jamming] Ricoh SP5210SF JAM CODE 53 (tray 2)

    hi

ive been having this issue for a while now and cant seem to get to the bottom of it.

    sp5210sf with a a tray 2 peripheral TK 1090.

    jams from tray 2 every 4-5 pages with jam code 053 - T2 TRANSPORT:OFF.
this mainly jams as its leaving the tray a couple of inches in to tray 1.

Ive changed the pickup roller, sep pad, transport sensor feeler, electromagnetic paper feed clutch.

    any help appreciated.

Remove 1st cassette look for jam or stuck label. Also take out driven roller unit there 2 screws labels tend to stick there.....

Jam Code 053 is a trail edge jam. Quite possibly likely due to chain feeding. That is where static builds between the sheet of paper being fed and the next sheet in the drawer. This causes the transport sensor to be covered too long. Lead edge of a sheet of paper just past the transport sensor, 1 to 2 inches into the first tray is a dead give away. That is how much the paper was overlapped. Check your parts catalog. The main machine and the paper banks often use different separator pads. If the one you replaced with is not cork, get one that is. Also if there is a static electricity problem in the location where the machine is located, they may need to raise the humidity.

            hi

            thanks for your reply.

i ordered a new sep pad for tray 2 and its the same one as tray 1. the not the cork type, its the white sponge type.

ive got 2 sp5210's and 1 sp5200 at the same site, all have jam code 053 in the logging data.

it could be the paper but it works perfectly fine in tray 1.
