    MX-6070 Cycling Power

Have a MX-6070 that constantly cycles power. The screen remains blank the entire time while the machine boots up and then powers back down. On the SCN-MFP PWB there are 4 LEDs next to the Flash ROM which remain lit while booting up and seem normal. The other set of 8 LEDs just above the mSATA do not appear normal. The two LEDs on the far right flash while the others are off. I have tried changing out the HDD and the mSATA to no avail. Seems like a failed SCN-MFP PWB according to the service manual but I'm hoping someone can help me out with any other ideas before I commit to that.

I haven't seen this on this series but in the past this has been caused by bad/corrupt print jobs. Is this connected to your network still? Not very helpful but had to ask.

    Good luck

I would check for a paperclip on the ADF pwb. We have had very similiar issues that turned out to be from a paperclip laying on the pwb.

Disconnect DSPF from SCN-MFP board, check if it boots.

MFP surface mount fuse could be blown. We just replaced an MFP for this symptom.

I have had this stacks of times.

1st thing to do is force it into emergency firmware and redo all firmware. I found if it boots into the emergency firmware screen, forcing the firmware will usually resolve it.

If that fails, the MFP needs to be replaced.

That's the same verdict I came to as well. I swapped the mSATA with a known good mSATA and no change. Also swapped the suspected bad mSATA into a second machine and it fired up just fine. It would be helpful if there were more details on the LEDs meaning.

LED checklist? I have the Service Manual

Yes had the Same problem changed out HDD/Rom chip/Sata card, did not fix power loop problem Also could not get passed Loop problem to CN UPDATE Mode for FW Update. turned out to be SCN portion of SCN-MFP PWB. Installed refurbished SCN-MFP PWB from HYTEC and that Solved Problem.
Note: be careful when disconnecting and reconnecting Flat Ribbon Cable. Also power source from outlet may have caused the problem in the firstplace.
