    [Error Code] MX-3571 U2-74

    I have a MX-3571 giving me the U2-74 on a random basis.

So far I have done an emergency Firmware update to overwrite the firmware, Changed the HDD and I changed the eMMC.
Got the error again today. Now Sharp ask me to change de MFP-PWB.

Just want to know if someone already had this code & what was your solution ?

Service Manuals say it's a Backup File not corresponding data.

Going to order the 1200$ MFP-PWB as Sharp suggest.

    Thank you for any Ideas.

Never had this issue, but looks like the problem was resolved on the "Phoenix2" boxes with the MFP-SCAN PWB.
    See post here: U2-74

You can ask @Mloudy to see if the problem has returned after repair.

    Good luck.

      Hi

Just had the error this week. Drove there, installed the latest firmware with a USB stick, restarted the device and the customer was happy. Please stop ordering or changing circuit boards all the time.
The error occurs when the device checks its firmware and thinks a change/tampering has occurred.

      Sharp Germany says :
Error code U2-74 appears when the firmware files are corrupt. According to S/M, the error can be fixed by updating the firmware with Sim 49-1.

We replaced the MFPC-SCAN PWB on 11/8/2021 and the U2-74 has not returned. We updated the firmware prior to that and then on the next call installed the firmware again from a different USB drive and a fresh download. In our case I would say it was a pwb and not corrupt firmware.

We rarely replace boards. Maybe one per year.

As mentioned in my post, the first thing I did was the firmware & I did it in emergency mode to make sure it overwrite the firmware because it was already up to date.
It can take almost a week before it happens again in my case. The code never showed while I'm on site.
          Thanks.

Had this on a 3071, but also the machine was booting weird. It would boot up half way, go to the please wait splash screen, and then go black. Swapped the HDD and mSata with known working ones out of a machine at the office, and didn't make a difference. Had to replace the MFP-SCN PWB twice because apparently the first one I replaced was in a bad batch of chips on the board.

Haven't heard anything since, but it was whacky.

I changed the MFP PWP yesterday. All went well. Still no codes this morning.

I will post if we have errors again but it seems to be fixed .

                Thanks again for the help.
