Is anyone seeing early toner waste near full alerts on the new Toshiba series? I've had 2 machines send us alerts that toner waste is near full. One of them has 15k on it and the other has 29k. Both are about a 40/60 mix of color and black. The new series takes a TBFC425, but it looks nearly identical to the TBFC505 which was rated for 120k before needing replacement. I know we never saw any machine getting to 120k before replacement and that replacement times vary depending on ratio of color/black and toner coverage. But 15k and 29k seems awfully early to me to be generating a "near full" alert. Makes me wonder if there's a glitch. Just curious if I'm the only one seeing this?

I know this sounds idiotic, but ... is your customer taking out the waste bottle and shaking it up, in the hopes that the "Add Toner" message will go away? Lol. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Ha! You know, it wouldn't be the first time customers have done silly things like that!
But in these cases I have all toner and toner waste notifications on the screen turned off. No message will appear to the user until the toner waste or a toner cartridge needs to be replaced. We just get an email warning of near full and ship them out then. I don't think a customer could spoof that particular message. But never underestimate the power of a rogue enduser!
If no one else is seeing this then I'd say these are flukes. Time will tell. Why does every customer think they're the first one to ever say: "you've been here so much we should get you an office, ha, ha, ha"?Comment

I have asked the same question for you on Toshiba America's FYI.Toshiba.com service conversation area.
I will post any responses.Last edited by SalesServiceGuy; 03-03-2023, 12:40 AM.Comment

"The waste box is rated for black = 120K and color = 30K.
Most likely users are printing color documents."
I did not know there was this lower capacity for color prints.Comment

I had absolutely no idea - I just usually go by two black toners as a rule of thumb.Comment

Re: Issues with toner waste alerts e2525AC series
the fun part is...when you have cloud policy setup for WT near full...If the customer replaces a WT before it says its fully full, the message dosn't reset.
the machine has no idea that you put in a new WT...so I get a crap ton of WT near empty but the alternative is the machine skips the WT low alert and goes direct to WT full and shuts the machine down.Comment
