Tech called me. Working on an EB3/gen1 at a county jail.
Customer could not log into admin. Tech went into service UI, would not allow the service password.
Booted into FS mode. Still wouldn't let him into service mode.
Booted into HS mode. It accepted the password. Did HDD check, came out ok.
I told him to run the HDD check tool and or call the hotline.
He called the hotline (here's where it gets interesting).
Hotline asked him if there were any security cameras. He said, it's a JAIL, yes there are security cameras.
Hotline said well, it doesn't happen all the time, but once in a while, if a camera is pointed at the machine
the machine/network sees that and thinks someone is recording what a person is doing and locks out the
machine. Easy way to tell is pull the network cable, reboot the machine and see if you can log into admin.
I about fell out of my chair when the tech told me what the hotline said.
I told him just format the HDD, set it up again and see what happens.
He did, and it fixed the issue.
