    Because I am stoopid

I went to deliver toner to a doctors office. The machine needed one put in. I ask the girl if she knew how and she said she was new, so I showed hew how to do it. Simple enough. At the end of the day one of the girls that works the front desk came to me looking really pissed. It seems the office manager at the doctors office called and the 2 of them got into an argument. The manager had returned from lunch, after I had put the toner in, found one of her computers would not print. So, she came to the only logical conclusion, that my changing of the toner kicked her computer off the network. This person has had issues before and the girls who answer our phones describe her with the "C" word. I went back the next morning to investigate the "toner issue" and she started in with me. I pretty much told her that the 2 things were not connected, and when she stood her ground, I implied she might not be the smartest person in that office. I guess we won't be getting repeat business from them.

It's amazing how the photocopier is to blame for everything that goes wrong in offices.

Well clearly you install the toner wrong. Why can't you just admit it? <<<snicker, snicker>>>

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I once got blamed for knocking out power to 2 floors of a customer's building while installing a new Ricoh MFP.

The lights went out just after I enabled LDAP. Musta been it, right?

I'm always amused that whenever a customer clicks on print and a sheet of paper doesn't come out of their printer they always ring us never Bill Gates or Steve Jobs to complain about their crappy OS.

I got called out to a major account once on a Saturday. An executive was leaving Sunday for a meeting in Texas Monday and could not print. Got there and went up to the machine to find a glaring red light next to the print function button indicating the machine was out of letter size paper. Tandem tray and LCIT were empty.

A soon to be news story....

Copy repairman arrested in assault. Local police have arrested a copy repair tech and charged him with 2 counts of simple assault. Police report states that two coworkers in a local business began striking each other after one of them became irritated when the copier began jamming. The coworkers stated that it was the same jam they reported last week, but the machine wouldn't jam while the tech was there. Police said if the tech had been better at his job, the assault would not have happened. The tech was at the shop when the assault happened.

Customer phone and complained that the machine would not receive faxes.
Drove a round trip of 250 km to load paper!
Best is alway "the machine does not want to turn on" go there to plug it in!
"Computer continues to make a beeping tone" go there to remove the stapler from the keyboard.
"machine makes blank copies" explain that the paper must be turned around for it to work.

I wonder how many half used toner bottles gets thrown out for no reason. If the machine makes light prints the toner goes. If there is a line the toner goes, even if it does not print the toner goes.

had a call last week, customer complained that the drum needed replacing on their konicaminolta, and because it needed replacing only her PC couldn't print, everybody else's did....attended on site, and asked her to show me....she pressed "ctrl P" on her keyboard and sure enough ...nothing happened....checked her PC, her keyboard wasn't plugged in.....she'd waited over an hour for me to attend....apparently she hadn't tried to type anything, as she couldn't print...so she went on youtube to listen to music
