    Foxelli Headlamp!!!

    Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to let you know I found a Great Headlamp!...Made By Foxelli!:

    Rechargeable Headlamp | Foxelli

Extremely Comfortable and Lightweight!....USB Rechargeable so you don't have to buy any more batteries!....charge it while on your way to a service call...or when you get home!....100 hours runtime on low mode, which I found perfect for close tech work on copiers!....Plus it has a diffuser to slide over the light to broaden and soften the light!

I just couldn't believe the price from Foxelli--$29.97 w/free shipping in the US!....WoW!

Below are some personal pix I took!:

Below is an example of using the light...nice and diffuse...not too harsh...perfect for seeing the subject material and taking a picture with your mobile phone!...BTW, what you are looking at is the electrical connections of the paper feed units on a Ricoh B&W 50+ CPM MFP!
    FoxelliLight1.jpg

Here are some pix of the Foxelli Headlamp that I took myself below!:

This is the downward facing micro USB charge port on battery pack on the rear of the headband!...It is facing downward...just in case you forget to reseal it with the cap, it won't collect water if you go out in the rain!
    FoxelliLight2.jpg

Here is a closeup of one of the clips holding the power wire to the headband....it has a positive click feature so the power cable stays put!:
    FoxelliLight3.jpg

Below you see the black durable strain relief that holding the power cable and to the left, you see the battery charge indicator!:
    FoxelliLight4.jpg

An SOS whistle attached to the headband...."Just in Case"!:
    FoxelliLight5.jpg
View of Light Diffuser which slides down over the light to broaden and soften the light!:
    FoxelliLight6.jpg

View of the Diffuser slid up with the focused spotlight lens visible!:
    FoxelliLight7.jpg

Below, on the side of the light unit, you see the power/multi-mode change button!:
    FoxelliLight8.jpg

On this side of the light, you see another durable strain relief for the power cable!:
    FoxelliLight9.jpg

Anyway, I hope you folks liked my pictures!

For me, my headlamp (Foxelli now!) is probably one of the most, if not THE MOST valuable tool I have in my tool bag!...If I can't see what I am working on--handsfree (not holding the light) I can then see AND use both hands to do the job quickly and efficiently!

So If anyone has any questions about this headlamp, add to the thread!...I'll try to respond as accurately and quickly as possible!

    CHEERS

It looks very handy, but just a little geeky. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Not at all geeky!...especially when it keeps you from getting you fingers caught in a belt drive!

PS--My headlamp previous to the Foxelli was more *geeky*!

But surely a good tech should be able to work with his eyes shut?

I use a Utilitech LED flashlight. 1 1/4" diameter, 4" long, three AAA batteries. Small enough that I can turn it on and position where it provides light where need it. I buy them at Lowes. List online as $9.97. I usually find them in the store for under $6.

After you use it for a while, I'd be interested in hearing how durable the on/off switch is. I'd like LED lights a lot except the switch always fails early for me.
Of course that is likely my fault. For troublesome calls, telling the people exactly what is happening can be unproductive. Sometimes when that happens, I turn big, green, and uglier on the way out to the car and things I find that are of questionable durability get broken.

                Petzl Tikkina.

Cheap and strong. Good enough for everyday use.

I did read that the Tikkina can use rechargeable Ni-Mh batteries...but the question is, can you recharge the batteries while they are installed???

Items of "questionable durability" should not require any intervention to break!....they should only fail from normal use!...LOL!

The switch on the Foxelli is slightly recessed and out of the way so it can't get "accidentally" damaged!

I had to do that when I was a photo lab technician!...I had to change photo paper roll cartridges inside of a black bag!

I *HATE* dealing with batteries!!!...especially if they are loose!...imagine if your mobile phone required loose batteries to function!....that would be hell!..thank goodness you can recharge with a USB cable!

I got a bunch of spent batteries floating around in the back of my vehicle that don't have enough power for my headlamp (Coast Headlamp)....I have built a Joule Thief which I can use to power some LEDs:

Hey, that hit a soft spot, but it wasn't a ruler - it was a slide rule.
