I find you lack of intelligence jaw-dropping. A quick google search will show that that Canada has, and still does ban books. Look, buddy, you should take a break from the political forum. It's not for you. Even your Canadian friends think you're an idiot. I can assure you of that. Don't kid yourself.

Moreover, since you idiots are in favor of allowing every book in our schools, lets start with the Bible.

... other than a weak attempt at smearing people with different viewpoints than yourself, what does calling people names have to do with climate change?

You should be way more concerned about the mega drought that is afflicting almost half of the USA.

Lake Mead falls to an unprecedented low, exposing one of the reservoir’s original water intake valves

The West is in the grips of a climate change-fueled megadrought, and Lake Mead – the largest manmade reservoir in the country and a source of water for millions of people – has fallen to an unprecedented low.

The lake’s plummeting water level has exposed one of the reservoir’s original water intake valves for the first time, officials say.
The valve had been in service since 1971 but can no longer draw water, according to the Southern Nevada Water Authority, which is responsible for managing water resources for 2.2 million people in Southern Nevada, including Las Vegas.

Across the West, extreme drought is already taking a toll this year and summertime heat hasn’t even arrived yet.

After a disappointing winter with very little rain and snow, water officials in Southern California are now demanding that residents and businesses limit outdoor watering to one day a week. It’s the first time they’ve implemented such a strict rule.

“This is a crisis. This is unprecedented,” said Adel Hagekhalil, general manager of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. “We have never done anything like this before and because we haven’t seen this situation happen like this before. We don’t have enough water to meet normal demands for the six million people living in the State Water Project dependent areas.”

The Salton Sea could produce the world’s greenest lithium, if new extraction technologies work

About 40 miles north of the California-Mexico border lies the shrinking, landlocked lake known as the Salton Sea. Once the epicenter of a thriving resort community, water contamination and decades of drought have contributed to a collapse of the lake’s once vibrant ecosystem, and given rise to ghost towns.

But amidst this environmental disaster, the California Energy Commission estimates that there’s enough lithium here to meet all of the United States’ projected future demand, and 40% of the entire world’s demand. That’s big news for the booming electric vehicle industry, as lithium is the common denominator across all types of EV batteries.

Traditionally, lithium extraction involves either open-pit mining or evaporation ponds, which work by pumping lithium-containing brine to the surface and waiting for the water to dry up. Both of these methods have huge land footprints, are often very water-intensive, and can create lots of contamination and waste.

But at the Salton Sea, three companies are developing chemical processes to extract lithium in a much cleaner way, taking advantage of the Salton Sea’s rich geothermal resources. Near the lake, there are already 11 operating geothermal power plants, ten of which are owned by Berkshire Hathaway’s renewable energy division, BHE Renewables.

“We are already pumping 50,000 gallons of brine per minute across all of our ten geothermal facilities to the surface,” said Alicia Knapp, President and CEO of BHE Renewables, “And we’re using the steam from that brine to generate clean energy. And so we’re really halfway there in that we’ve got the lithium right here in our hands.”

This new industry could be a major economic boon to the region, where the majority Mexican-American community faces high rates of unemployment and poverty, and suffers health impacts from the toxic dust that blows off the Salton Sea’s drying lakebed.

“We’re cautiously excited in regards to the Lithium Valley,” said Maria Nava-Froelich, the temporary mayor of Calipatria, the city of about 6,000 where the geothermal power plants are located, “We see it as a game changer here for the Imperial County.”

Nava-Froelich hopes the industry will bring much needed jobs and development to the region, helping to revitalize communities have seen an exodus of young people seeking opportunities elsewhere. And environmentalists hope that the influx of attention and money will hasten California’s efforts to restore the environment in and around the Salton Sea.

If there were ever a time to bet on domestic mineral projects, it might be now. At the end of March, President Biden invoked the Defense Production Act to boost production of EV battery minerals like lithium, nickel, cobalt, graphite and manganese.

But extracting lithium from geothermal brines has never been done before at scale, so it remains to be seen what benefits the electric vehicle industry, the local community, and the environment will actually see.

... so what is your solution?

Ignore the politicians who are the one's making decisions about what they think is the best path forward for the planet.

Sure some are corrupt, some are stupid, some are wrong but many others follow the science and try and make the best choices moving forward.

For all you that are screaming that CO2 emissions are destroying the planet earth, I suggest you unplug your refrigerator as well because your refrigerator is a culprit in greenhouse gas emissions. Aftercall, if you want net 0 carbon emissions by 2030, 2050, etc. you will need to unplug your homes refrigerator that prevents your food from spoiling as it uses electric which we all know produces green house gases to produce. The numbers are in and the research has already been done, please lead by example all you 0 carbon emissions by 2030, 2050, etc. and unplug your refrigerators to cut out greenhouse gas emissions, no excuses or whiny stories either do your part.

California just announced they are going to have a special tax for the lithium mined there and the lithium miners say all that is doing is making it cheaper to buy from china.

Another major contributor to carbon emissions is your home air conditioning/ heating system. If you are concerned about greenhouse carbon emissions remove or stop using your home A/C units now.117 million metric tons of carbon dioxide are released into the air each year by you using your A/C. 302 Moved

President Biden announces executive actions on 'climate crisis,' focuses on extreme heat and boosting offshore wind

President Biden described climate change as an 'emergency'

President Biden announced Wednesday that he will be implementing a number of executive actions focused on combating climate change.

Biden's executive actions come after Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., reportedly said that he will not support a package before the midterm elections which includes any provisions on energy and climate, with his spokesperson telling Fox News Digital that Manchin wants to "avoid taking steps that add fuel to the inflation fire."

Included in the executive actions is an effort to "protect communities from extreme heat and dangerous climate impacts," which includes $2.3 billion in funding for the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities program in 2022, which is intended to help communities "increase resilience to heat waves, drought, wildfires, flood, hurricanes and other hazards by preparing before disaster strikes," according to the White House.

The executive actions by Biden also include an effort to lower cooling costs for communities who are suffering from extreme heat, as the White House is issuing guidance that will assist states, tribes and territories in their funding for community cooling centers as well as helping people within their communities get access to cooling equipment.

Additionally, the Biden administration will consider potential wind power projects in the Gulf of Mexico, which are being proposed off the coast of Galveston, Texas, and off the coast of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The White House estimates that the projects have the potential to power over three million homes with "clean energy."

Biden is also directing the Secretary of the Interior to "advance clean energy development" off the coasts of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina to ensure that "these southeast states will be able to benefit from good-paying jobs in the burgeoning offshore wind industry."

Biden said while announcing the executive actions in Somerset, Massachusetts, that climate change is an "emergency."

"This is an emergency — an emergency — and I will look at it that way," Biden said. "I said last week, I'll say it again, loud and clear. As president, I'll use my executive powers to combat climate change, the climate crisis in the absence of congressional action."

A senior White House administration official said that the climate crisis is an "urgent" challenge, adding that "what has already been unleashed in terms of climate is devastating."

                              Nope

The problem is, our "view" of history, pretty much starts at our birth. 50-100 years of data is nothing,
compared to the age of the Earth.
My favorite is when the "global warming" panic in the 90's, the melting ice in the Nordic region uncovered
an abandoned settlement. Scientist were all giddy at the discovery. They dated it to around the 12-13th
century. NOT ONCE did anyone say "hey, wait a minute...if it was so warm back then to sustain a settlement,
how did it get so warm? There wasn't any burning of fossil fuels, no industrial revolution".
It gets warm, it gets cold.
