Why it matters: Extreme heat is a major public health threat and plays a role in droughts and wildfires.

Hot weather, particularly when it occurs during prolonged heat waves, also threatens the reliability of the nation's increasingly strained electricity grid.

Just don't be working outside in Florida, Texas or any other Republican run State. You could die in your boots from the heat and they would NOT care.

Here is a little story about places like Bakersfield where it actually get hot in the summer. Not sure where it originated but it's been around for more than 20 yeara that I am aware of.:

BTW, how did I survive working in extreme temps in Louisiana where temps were 100+ with 100% humidity? How did I survive without the government saving me? And all my friends and coworkers also managed to survive. Oh, and it was working in the fucking cold that I hated worse.
