Allen wrenches out of the tool bag

I have posted about other items not being used much anymore. Just lightened up the tool bag a little by removing allen wrenches. Haven't used them in a few years. Was one of the most used tools years ago, mostly to remove clutches, etc

I still use a Platt hard case and still very heavy. Trying to lighten by removing what I don't use for a few years. Maybe if I get case light enough I'll go to soft sided case. So far I have removed:

    meter
    soldering iron
all test charts (except one mostly for ADF alignment)
a few bigger screwdrivers & pliers

I went through my tool case several months ago to lighten it and was surprised by how many screws were in the bottom. It seems a lot of my machines have missing screws. Lol.

I am a bit of a pack rat when it comes to tools. I have a DeWalt backpack just loaded. I don't take the whole thing on all service calls. I have a smaller Craftsman bag I can carry the essential stuff for each call. I use Allen wrenches frequently, shredders sometimes. When I look in my bag, I think, I need more.

The lighter the better you are off.
Lugging around a vacuum, tool-bag and laptop from and to your car 16 to 20 times a day does add up.

Rather have it and not need it??

Not missing screws, simply extraneous shipping crews which were not fully removed by lazy technicians at setup and installation. You simply forgot this why you did this for older copiers.

I definitely need to lighten up. It's a losing battle though. Each day I think of that one additional thing to make my life easier (and my back a little more bent).

It has helped to put together smaller (yet not less heavy) single purpose kits. i.e.: Soldering kit, PQA kit, Dremel kit, The Miscellany (photointerrupters, thermostats, springs, most of long forgotten provenance), and the MacGuyver Bag (successful spontaneous repairs that were eventually replaced, but still perfectly serviceable). =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I used a heavy duty collapsible luggage cart to carry everything if I needed more than just my tool kit and laptop. Full PM on some Ricoh meant two PM kits, 60K and 120K, plus vacuum.

I got started using one years ago when I had to work on Vydec word processors. Tool kit, laptop, two board boxes, most repair amounted to determining which board was bad and swapping out, and o-scope. If you didn't take everything, you ended needing what you take.

                    I too have gone the " Specialty Tool Bag " approach.. Xerox - FP/NeoPost - Solder/Dremel.

As far as sensors/springs/'stats/ect.. I use lil plastic lure boxes.. each brand in it's own w/ Brand/Model in a duffle bag. Feed/Sep/Retard made into kits in their on zippy w/ model n P/N's

Some may say an anal approach..but easy to add/subtract from as tools/parts fade out.

A Couple things I seem to use more than others here... Meter - Mech Sound Scope (ol' ears?) -TORX (hate FP/Xerox)

I use a cart I found in the shop several years ago, better on the back and shoulders. When the wheels wear out( about every 3 years), I just head to Harbor Freight,(the big boys tool and toy store) and buy some new lawn mower wheels for about $6.00 each and away I go....
