... so are you OK with $235M YTD of Federal gov't money spent on Trump's golf trips. 1/3 of the 100 days Trump has been in office, have been on a golf course.

This is almost half of the total Federal gov't budget allocated to PBS/NPR.

I don't care about Trump's golf trips any more than you cared about Biden sunning his ballz all the time at his beach house in Delaware. Nice attempt to change the topic when you can't justify PBS and NPR getting taxpayer's money. Perhaps Trump should propose federal funding for Fox News so you can see your hypocrisy.

Where did you pull that number out of? According to itbtimes it has only been $10 Million a month. The majority of that is for security, both local law enforcement and Secret Service. https://www.wflx.com/2025/04/29/pres...ts-mar-a-lago/

So it appears that you Trump haters are the cause of that cost.

You need to find better comparisons. President Biden enjoying his private time at his beach home in Delaware cost the American taxpayer almost nothing.

            Nobody changed the topic.

A little sample of what you are missing on PBS and what right wing media suppresses and Trump wants gone.

According to polls, 52% of Americans give Trump a D/F rating on his first 100 days in office. Reality bites and Trump wants to hide the truth.

PBS CEO weighs in on the potential impact of cutting public media funding

              I will summarize for you.

              1. Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) is suing the Trump Administration for illegally firing three board members who are not employed by the Federal gov't.

              2. The idea that funds that have already been allocated by Congress could be taken away has a chilling effect on all levels of gov't.

              3. Most of the money allocated to CPB does not go to PBS. It goes to support local broadcasting stations.

              4. The funding amounts to $1.60 per year per citizen. Federal funds represent 15% of PBS revenues. 10% of the programming is news. Eight hours per day of programming is for children. 50% of all children in America do not attend pre K educational facilities. PBS is the 1st partner for most American families for early childhood education.

              5. Starting in the 1960s, public broadcasting is a treasure to most communities. Once these local stations are gone due to defunding you cannot easily bring them back.

              6. The Public Broadcasting system is the Emergency Alert backbone for all of America reaching into the smallest of communities.

              7. A recent Pew Research Center poll reveals:

              - 43% of Americans want funding to the CPB to continue.
              - 24% of Ameicans want funding to cease.
              - 33% of Americans are not sure.
              - 65% of Trump voters want funding to continue.

Even worse, Trump's golf trips are funded by talking away FEMA emergency funds.

Goldman Blasts GOP for Using $300M in FEMA Money to Bankroll Trump’s Golf Trips

$300M has been made available to reimburse local law enforcement for Presidential activities. 2:55 mark. This includes Trump golf trips. Trump has played golf 24 days out of his first 100 days.

$300 million would pay the Social Security benefits to over 13,600 senior citizens for an entire year.

                It is a disgrace.

I trust Dan Goldman's (D-NY) intepretation of this spending package over a retired, heavily biased copier service tech any day.

... even Fox News has become more critical of Trump's dismal first 100 days in office.

I'm in the suburbs of a big city more or less. I've watched plenty of PBS and occasionally tune into NPR to hear what the left wing nutters are spinning.
Now tell us why you think NPR and PBS should be government funded while their competition isn't.
.... compared to what? What news source do you consider to report straight down the line?

Trump is using an Executive Order to end what he personally considers to be bias in the media to target institutions, media, culture and academics that he disagrees with.

What Trump is doing is a fundamental attack on the US constitution, on the foundation of America.

People need to understand and remember that there is only one profession that is protected in the Constitution and it is the Free Press.

                    ... and why?

Because the founders understood that the survival of a democracy depends on an informed citizenry. Citizenry can only be informed by a press that can report on affairs of the Republic free and unfettered. Whether the reporting comes from the left or the right, the government should not interfer with that reporting.

When you have a President of the United States that is making it his misson to attack the free press, we should all be concerned
