While much is said about the trade war from a Western media point of view, little is written about the Chinese point of view.
Last Sunday when President Trump decided to escalate the tariffs from 10% to 25% on $200B worth of imported Chinese goods, he probably did not know that that day was the 100th anniversary of the May 4th Movement in China which celebrated a revolt against the imperialist terms that the West imposed on China in the post World War 1 Treaty of Versailles.
To escalate trade tariffs on that day automatically made trade talks more inflammatory akin to China raising tariffs against the USA on Independence Day July 4th.
The trade talks have become just one of many events of a new era of geopolitical and systemic competition that will define our times.
What appears to be most unacceptable to the trade talks is the US demand that China must change its national laws to abide by the deal's terms.
What do you think would happen if China demanded that the USA change its national laws to abide by the deal's terms?
For a leader like Chinese President Xi - who has staked his reputation on ending what his supporters see as China's "century of humiliation" at the hand of foreign powers, the on again and off again trade talks have become about so much more than trade.
China will continue to engage the USA in trade talks but not much is likely to happen until after the next USA Presidential election when China expects a more agreeable President will be elected.
It is estimated that if the trade war escalates the average US consumer will pay in excess of $800.00 in tariff taxes per year to the US gov't.
Correction:
It is estimated that if the trade war escalates the average US family of four will pay in excess of $767.00 in tariff taxes per year to the US gov't.
Plus an estimated 934,000 US jobs are put at risk.

"President Donald Trump Trump, who campaigned in 2016 on cracking down on what he calls unfair trade practices, has stirred trade conflict on even more fronts. From Canada and Mexico to the European Union and Japan, the president faces pivotal moments in his crusade to reshape U.S. trade relationships ahead of the 2020 election".

In simple terms. It means hang on to the old machine longer, get a tech/mechanic to repair it. Equals more local jobs, not money going over seas for throw away cheap items, which makes redundant Techs/Mechanics. Source parts local, again means more local jobs.Win win for the smaller guys and a thriving local ecconomy. ..IMHO.....Sent via phone...

Fix it with WHAT? Parts From CHINA! 25% increase to parts and equipment to YOUR BOSS means NO Raise, NO Bonus, Layoff's and will look for any reason to cut personal.
Another side affect as most car parts come from CHINA, look for Auto Insurance to rates to increase as well.
As well as repairing or buying any appliances or home A/C unit.

I do agree that if the price of new copiers and printers significantly increase, customers will elect to either extend their current equipment leases or consider purchasing used equipment.
Both options are not great for new equipment sales in the USA.
If the cost of parts and supplies increase, as soon as current service contracts expire, cost per copy contracts will increase.
Business owners are likely to be facing increased operational costs from all aspects of their business which they in turn will be forced to pass onto their customers.

There is a part of history we have forgotten or never knew. Its repeating. The road to hell is paved with nice warm fuzzy leftist intentions.
Have the Russians succeeded in there brainwashing attempt? You will not be able to answer the question it would mean that you are wrong.

Chinese state media is preparing the population for an extended trade war with the USA. "China’s state media is using propaganda to drum up support against the United States and President Donald Trump as the trade war escalates. In a clip from state broadcaster CCTV that went viral, an anchor asks, “After 5,000 years of trials and tribulations, what kind of battle have the Chinese not been through?”
The video, which has been viewed more than 3.3 billion times, underscores how China wants to portray itself as playing the long game in the trade battle in contrast with President Trump, whose reelection next year could be at risk if voters perceive the trade war negatively."
To the Chinese, Donald Trump will not be the President after no more than six years maximum. President Xi of China is President for life!
”Negotiate— we can!Fight— bring it on!Bully us— YOU WISH!”-People’s Daily WeChat post entitled “This is #China’s attitude” on the escalating trade war with @realDonaldTrumpChinese banner.jpg

All from the enemy that is busy with his strategy to divide and conquer!
So you guys really believe that this tariff hike is set out to harm you personally?
I wouldn't say it is to harm personally, but there is no thought given to the people who end up having to pay the tax hike. It will never hurt the people who instigate it. All taxes affect the poor disproportionately. An extra $50 taken from someone who brings home $2000 affects them more than $50 dollars taken from someone who brings home $10000 per month.
