    3D printed copier/printer parts.

So here is the first 3D printed part to be tested to see if it would work as a replacement.
Real silly part took 3 minutes to crate the STL file, 3 more to slice it and 25min to print at 0.05mm(50micron) layer height.
Used PETG filament, higher deformation temp and a slight flex to it.

DS rollers for the 223 Konica Minolta machine.

With a 0.1mm nozzle gears would be tricky but possible.
Now busy to find a way to print(model) the transfer roller guide pieces.

Anyone here thinking of other parts that would be helpful to try and print.
    Or printed parts already?
    Whatever

As the technology improves there will not be a need to order smaller parts like this. Just download the file from the manufacture and print it. Now so that the manufacture does not lose money they will probably have a proprietary software for the files that you must pay for each print.

Forgot that i like this kind of thing. Went ape on the detail.

      Transfer_roller_part _1.jpgTransfer_roller_part _3.jpgTransfer_roller_part _5.jpg

Not sure what kind of injection molding they used here as there is no draft to be found and very complex for normal molding...
The 3D printable version would look a lot different. Did not need to add all those features. Got carried away.

Checked the video. I have a CR20 with power fail resume. Its got a V2 board and running 24V. Does not suffer from any problems.
Got no mods done to it yet and does not seem to need any. O except for throwing out that horrible build sheet, replaced that with glass. Hairspray is my adhesion method of choice.
Sticks down ABS like nothing else out there.

                  Very particular about the quality...

Did not come out to bad. Printed it in 2 parts and glued together.
Will need a jig to glue them in the exact place.

Using Fusion and Slic3rPE for slicing.
Print mostly with PLA, PETG, HIPS.

GlueDevil superglue is some serious stuff.
Will need to check Methylene Chloride out.

Best price I've found!!! Gotta keep the lid on tight since it evaporates quite quickly!!! Can capillary weld with plexiglass/ acrylic...works very well with PLA also!!!

Pint Solvent Cement (Not IPS Weld-On(R)) | U.S. Plastic Corp.

allan, are you having issues with these parts breaking in the field? Or is this more of just a see what you can 3D build for copier parts? I ask because I've never seen one of those parts on the transfer roller break on these models. Pretty sure we've never had one break at all in the field. I have had some broken in the box when it was shipped, though.

I love stuff like this and wish I had the skill to 3D model. Of course, if I would have gone into drafting 33+ years ago like I had considered, I would have that skill but wouldn't be servicing copiers.
Started in the copier service business in the fall of 1988 and worked at the same company for 33.5 years, becoming the senior tech in 2004 but left to pursue another career on 4/29/22.
