BTW most of the intellectual counties did their own lockdowns and required MASKS and followed CDC guildlines and still do.

Cruise lines are also following CDC guildlines

Days after it set sail once again, shares of Carnival and competitor Royal Caribbean are both plunging in early trading Monday.

Carnival shares were off nearly 6%, while Royal Caribbean fell nearly the same amount as of 10:30 a.m. ET, after reports this weekend that two passengers aboard Royal Caribbean’s Adventure of the Seas ship tested positive for COVID-19.

The guests, who were unvaccinated and under the age of 16, were disembarked in The Bahamas and were sent home to Florida after the virus was detected in a routine test on board the ship.

The Delta variant will cause 'very dense outbreaks' in these five states, expert says

The Delta variant, a strain of Covid-19 believed to be more transmissible and dangerous than others, is likely to break out in some US communities, a health expert told CBS's "Face the Nation."

"It's not going to be as pervasive," Dr. Scott Gottlieb, former commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration, said Sunday. "It's going to hyper-regionalized. There's certain pockets of the country where you're going to have very dense outbreaks."

Those pockets will be ones with low vaccination rates and low rates of prior infection, Gottlieb said, like in many rural and southern communities.

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 46.1% of the total US population has been vaccinated against Covid-19. Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Wyoming are among the states with the lowest vaccination rates, with less than 35% of their population fully vaccinated.

The national figure is far from the 70 to 85% of the population experts including Dr. Anthony Fauci estimated would likely need to become immune through vaccine or prior infection to control the virus' spread -- and with vaccine rates declining, some officials worry the US will not get to that threshold.

To get ahead of a potential outbreak, Gottlieb recommended governors build up health care resources in vulnerable communities and leaders adopt a grassroots vaccination campaign for the fall.

"People who are going to be convinced to get vaccinated by Tony Fauci, or the surgeon general -- or me for that matter -- probably are already vaccinated," he noted. "We need to get vaccines into the hands of doctors, make it easier for doctors to supply vaccines in their offices."

Though the rate of vaccination may be slowing, Gottlieb said he's optimistic that some unvaccinated Americans will soon make the decision to get the vaccine as they go back to work and school in the fall.

Those are all states (save Wyoming) with a very large black population. Blacks don't trust "the man" when it comes to a vaccine. And the vaccine lottery didn't help.
Adversity temporarily visits a strong man but stays with the weak for a lifetime.

There is data to suggest vaccine hesitancy is higher among black people while at the same time there is data to suggest that black people suffer more severe complications when infected by COVID-19D resulting in higher mortality rates. Therefore, the some members of the black community have a significant health dilemma to overcome.

You statement of the above suggests that you accept this data.

Large vulnerable black populations therefore put nearby white people and people of colour at greater risk in these same states. Those white people and people of colour people need to urgently get vaccinated as the D variant is too virulent to take an unnecessary and totally preventable risk on.

It is the same risk aversion thinking, no different than wearing a seat belt or a helmet when riding a bike or motorcycling.

It's not just blacks that are worried about this man made threat to humanity.
The WHO and CDC are in china's back pocket and the dems are parrots for them.

... if you are not vaccinated and are actively working in the copy/print industry, it has already become an significant inconvenience not to be vaccinated.

Ease of customer access is restricted, crossing provincial or state borders becomes tedious and some people think of you as a possible threat.

A couple of problems with your post. The Republican Party does not run ALL the States. Of the 50 States, only 29 of the legislatures are controlled by the Republicans and only 27 have Republican governors.
