Liberals are gonna get everything they can from the covid crisis. They'll never drop the mask mandate. They'll never drop the covid passport. They'll never give up this new control that was given or they just took it without permission.

I got news for all of your liberals who think they know how I should live my life. Go kick rocks.

Re: Latest on the Corona Virus

Since May 2021, people living in counties that voted heavily for Donald Trump during the last presidential election have been nearly three times as likely to die from COVID-19 as those who live in areas that went for now-President Biden. That's according to a new analysis by NPR that examines how political polarization and misinformation are driving a significant share of the deaths in the pandemic.

NPR looked at deaths per 100,000 people in roughly 3,000 counties across the U.S. from May 2021, the point at which vaccinations widely became available. People living in counties that went 60% or higher for Trump in November 2020 had 2.78 times the death rates of those that went for Biden. Counties with an even higher share of the vote for Trump saw higher COVID-19 mortality rates.

In October, the reddest tenth of the country saw death rates that were six times higher than the bluest tenth, according to Charles Gaba, an independent health care analyst who's been tracking partisanship trends during the pandemic and helped to review NPR's methodology. Those numbers have dropped slightly in recent weeks, Gaba says: "It's back down to around 5.5 times higher

The trend was robust, even when controlling for age, which is the primary demographic risk of COVID-19 mortality. The data also reveal a major contributing factor to the death rate difference: The higher the vote share for Trump, the lower the vaccination rate.

The analysis only looked at the geographic location of COVID-19 deaths. The exact political views of each person taken by the disease remains unknowable. But the strength of the association, combined with polling information about vaccination, strongly suggests that Republicans are being disproportionately affected.

Trump got the shots in people's arms before Biden. In fact he and kneepads took the Trump shot Dec 2020.
Biden has more covid deaths on his hands than Trump did, and it hasn't been a full year yet of him 'fixing shit'.

... COVID was raging across the nation when President Biden took office. Within days the new President took immediate steps to dramatically improve the supply and distribution of life saving vaccines plus legislate and pass the historic American Rescue Plan.

... too bad you would not agree with ex President Trump and get vaccinated just like he did. You can even do it in secret, like he did.

As a reminder, the ex President came close to death because of his COVID infection. His infection was so concerning that putting him on a ventilator was considered by the medical staff at Walter Reed National military hospital.

Re: Latest on the Corona Virus

How Biden and Trump actually compare on coronavirus deaths

The United States passed yet another grim coronavirus milestone in November: We have now seen more deaths from the virus in 2021 than we did in all of 2020

As with all coronavirus stats, such comparisons can easily be manipulated depending upon when waves occur, etc., and stripped of context. And that context is less damning for Biden vis-a-vis Trump.

Trump himself went on to promote.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has echoed the point

                        And Breitbart said
anyone that is responsible for that many deaths should not remain as president of the United States of America

all those deaths. The worldwide experience with the virus proves otherwise. They also often ignored per capita numbers.

The comparison between 2020 and 2021 is also inapt in that Trump was still president in early 2021, and the effects of choices made before Biden took over (such as Trump not really encouraging people to get vaccinatedaround the exact time Biden was inaugurated on Jan. 20. Inheriting a trendline that showed 3,000 deaths per day, as Biden did, is a recipe for inflating your numbers.

Even if we assumed all things were equal, though, the comparison still struggles.

Both presidents presided over about 10 months of the pandemic. The World Health Organization declared that label on March 11, meaning Trump was president for a little more than 10 months of the formally declared pandemic. Biden has now passed a little more than 10 months in office as well.

Thus far, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Biden has presided over about 353,000 deaths in a little over 10 months, compared to about 425,000 for Trump in his final 10-plus months. So there have still been fewer deaths under Biden than under Trump, in a similar time period.

What we can say: Under Biden, we have accounted for a significantly smaller share of worldwide deaths than under Trump.

                        data from Johns Hopkins University.

Re: Latest on the Corona Virus

Former President Trump came in contact with more than 500 people between the day he initially tested positive for COVID-19 and his eventual hospitalization, according to a report by The Washington Post.

He came in contact with people either in close proximity to him or at events, according to the report. The number, however, doesn't include people present at his rallies.

In the time following the initial test, Trump did not take extra precautions such as mask-wearing or social distancing as preventative measures for those he came in contact with after the positive test on Sept. 26, 2020, the Post said.
