The voters should pick a President, and that President should select a successor to Justice Ginsburg. This was the position that the Republican Senate took in 2016 when there were nearly nine months before the election.

President Trump gets to pick a 3rd Justice !!! Thank you Lord!

Ha-ha This is killing the Dems.
As ruthless as the Dems have proven to be these last 4 yrs no one believes they wouldn't rush to pick a Justice if it was reversed, of couse they would. Obama didn't do it because he knew the Rep senate would vote against any nominee. Plus he thought Clinton was going to win. This is perhaps the most important thing a president does during his term. And one of the main reasons presidents are elected! Now maybe Sleepy Joe Hiden will show the people who his picks are? Trump showed his. Let's see who his radical handlers pick because you know he isn't picking them, he don't even know where he is! It is elder abuse on full display. This is how sick these people are. To use a shell of a man to push your socialist agenda through. Sad very sad....

        That's a distinction without a meaning.

Look, I'm not gonna pick on you but I would encourage you to read up how liberal and conservative judges rule on the cases before them by the way that they interpret The Constitution.

For instance: The 2nd amendment guarantees the right to bear arms. Conservative judges interpret the 2nd amendment to mean that citizens have a right to bear arms at all times to protect themselves.

Liberal judges believe it's within their scope to weaken the 2nd amendment to a point to where you can only have guns in the home.

That's not bias. It's how they read The Constitution.

If there are no biases left or right why are you so excited that donny boy gets to pick a new judge?

Simple. Because I believe THE CONTITUTION should be interpreted as it was written. I don't believe judges should be passing laws on the belief that it's a "LIVING AND BREATHING" document that can be rewritten because there's a surge in gun deaths or that freedom of speech can be curbed because someone finds it offensive.

But, it was originally written without the 2nd amendment. Does that mean you also think it can be changed?

Good question. You need to understand how the Founding Fathers set up our CONSTITUTION.

They were very smart. They understand that times change and they put in place a measure where the Constitution could be amended. But they din't put it in the hands of the Supreme Court that aren't elected and serve a lifetime on the bench.

No, they required that it be amended only by Congress who are duly elected and can be held accountable. And they made in very difficult and can only be done with a two-thirds majority vote in both the House of Representatives and the Senate or by a constitutional convention called for by two-thirds of the State legislatures.

                  Odd because you
ONLY believe parts of the CONSTITUTION when it suits YOU.

Lets take a recent example Congress the house issues a subpoena to the White House for documents
the White House refused to supply them. Congress has a legal right under the Constitution to receive them. But the

Did this go before the Supreme Court? I'm sure you don't know. And if it did go before the court, what did they say?

So, after all of that deflection, you do think it is okay to change the constitution. Got it!

Are you really that obtuse? I never said that The Constitution should never be amended. I said that I don't think the Supreme Court should be making rulings that are not in line with the document as it was written. Three's a process for that.

Hey Billy, don't waste your time arguing with the few Dems on this forum. Do what I did and block them. It's only 3-4 of them. The rest on this forum are Reps and don't want to become socialist!

Look at the thread "just how crazy is trump" and you will see the few Dems on this forum. They are the only ones that respond in that thread. Many on this forum agree with me they are probably the same person talking to themselves to keep thread on first page, how sick is that!

Ha-ha they really think it bothers people to keep Trump threads on first page. NO ONE cares and no one reads their rhetoric. It actually keeps Trump's name out front and will make more vote for him.

No worries they should go away and crawl back under a rock after Nov 3rd when Trump wins. Any normal person would not be able to stay on a forum after 4 years of bashing the president. But remember we are talking about Dem's and we all know they aren't normal.
