Doesn't take a fuckin' rocket scientist to figure that out!

What point are you trying to make here.
It seems you are against pay raises. Is that true?
Or are you pro pay raises.
Or are you simply confrontational and against anything that comes from what you consider a "liberal" source regardless of the content?

That depends. Is our government forcing the pay raise upon the company or was it the company's idea?

I don't have the time or inclination to go through how raising the minimum wage is good for the economy in general. Do the research your self. Maybe take a course.

It's shocking that you've never met a government mandate that you didn't like. You've probably never owned a business in your life.

Your Canadian counterpart posted about CostCo raising their pay, BY A DOLLAR, like it was some honorable gesture from the company to retain or gain employees. When in fact, they are merely trying to keep up with inflation, which they are still falling short of with their "pay raise". Your buddy seems to be ignorant of the fact that inflation is outpacing any type of "wage growth" in this country.

I'm all for raising someone's pay, when they earn it!
I'm not for raising people's pay "just because". People generally get a pay raise either by tenure, kicking ass at a position, or by adding more responsibilities for an employee (such as moving up to a supervisor).
And I'm not going to applaud Costco or Walmart for "raising pay", when in reality, they are just trying to keep up with the ever-growing rate of inflation and cost of living, which will leave current and new employees in THE SAME BOAT as they were before financially.

If you didn't get a 6% pay raise this year, then you have taken a 6% pay cut! Plain and simple.

I owned my first business at the age of 23..if memory serves.

I don't need to read your liberal research. Unlike you, I have to make payroll every week. Moreover, the market does a fine job of dictating pay. I don't need a one size fits all mandate from a snot-nose liberal like yourself that never had the guts to open his own business. Sit in the corner and talk less. lol

... you are taking isolated incidents and trying to generalize to support your theory. I am not aware the USA is permitting commercial business with the Taliban at this time. Still way too dangerous.

Oh, and I forgot to mention you ego. Which is extremely large, considering all you do is continuously whine about things you refuse to actually research.
You can take my responses as a thank you for keeping me laughing. I truly appreciate all you do to keep me amused.

We're going to pay you more but everything is now going to cost more and you might lose your job - where's the good in that? Let's say the new minimum wage was $15 an hour and a business could afford to pay that for 10 employees but they really need 15. Someone desperate for a job comes to the owner and is willing to work for $10 an hour, but the business owner would be breaking the law if he hired him/her at that rate. Minimum wage makes it illegal for a person to work at a wage they are willing to. It's a barrier to entry for those willing to work for less than what the government says they can.

Are you trying to say that there are people out there that would rather work for $10/hour than $15/hour? I would definitelt think twice about hiring someone like that. Especially if it's in a retail situation dealing with money.
