I'm pulling for Biden to go back to being an American. The radical branch of the democrat party is taking advantage of Joe's mental decline and are strong-arming him into making foolish decisions.

And if they are not paid for in advance then Putin shuts off the flow. I doubt if the EU has much petroleum reserves either in the ground or in above ground storage. It is the citizens of the EU who are going to suffer the most from the "sanctions" on Putin. Putin already has his war machine built and his supply lines already fully established.Comment

China is attempting to distance itself from Russia as the scale of the invasion of Ukraine becomes clear, with Foreign Minister Wang Yi saying it was “absolutely imperative” for all sides to exercise restraint to prevent the conflict from “getting out of control”.
And at least two of China’s largest state-owned banks are restricting financing for purchases of Russian commodities, underscoring the limits of Beijing’s pledge to maintain economic ties with one of its most important strategic partners in the face of sanctions by the US and its allies.
Offshore units of Industrial & Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) have stopped issuing US dollar-denominated letters of credit for purchases of physical Russian commodities ready for export, two people familiar with the matter told Bloomberg News.
Yuan-denominated letters of credit are still available for some clients, subject to approvals from senior executives, the people said, asking not to be identified.
The move followed the imposition of a wave of sanctions against Russia from countries including the US, the UK and Japan, and stoked speculation that more may follow.
Bank of China has also curbed financing for Russian commodities based on its own risk assessment, another person said. The lender has yet to receive explicit guidance on Russia from Chinese regulators, two people said.Comment

Obviously you know absolutely zero about the global economy. Cutting the cash flow to Russia will have no affect on the Russian war effort, it is already fully funded. Putin has already bought everything he needs. He has been preparing for at least six, probably nine months and the current administration in DC is far too incompetent to have been able to realize it was happening.
On the other hand should Putin shut off the flow of petroleum and natural gas to Europe, the European economy will come to a sudden halt. It will take OPEC at least 6 to 9 months to get their production and delivery system up to the point where they can provide Europe's needs. Russia has control of the pipe lines. It will require a fleet of super tankers going either through Suez, or around the tip of Africa to get products to Europe. And that depends on there being ports in the Balkans, Greece, France and Germany with the necessary facilities receive the tankers, tank farms ready to store the petroleum and pipe lines or tanker trucks to move product across Europe from those tank farms.
One other thing, when it comes to global financing it is China that controls a huge chunk of the world's money supply and China is not imposing sanctions on Putin.Comment
