So, I've been patiently waiting on my Yamaha receiver to arrive. It's been 3-weeks since the day I ordered it. Most of my speakers arrived in about a week. I'm still waiting on my subwoofer and 2 surround sound speakers. But my 2 tower speakers and my center have been sitting here waiting to have some juice run thru them.

Yesterday my Yamaha Aventage TX-A8A was delivered. I was so excited that I could barely contain myself. This is the best of the best. Just to give you a small clue that this isn't your run of the mill receiver, it weights in at 43.9 lbs. The price was ridiculous.

After running some speaker wire, I put on some Metallica and what ensued was mind blowing. The Klipsch speakers put me in the front row of a Metellica concert. There was no distortion and I had the volume cranked up high enough that I would sustain ear damage if kept at that volume for any length of time.

The bass was the most surprising. You could feel every bass drum beat in your soul. My subwoofer will be in on Tuesday but I'm not even sure that it's needed but I can't wait to try it out.
