        Re: $5.00 per gallon gas

I was surprised to learn today that all of the shale oil that the USA produces is too light to be used in any US refineries. The US has to import 100% of a heavier grade oil from foreign sources to be used in it's refineries.

The idea that it is all of President Biden's fault that the USA is facing energy shortages and prices are too high and this would all be solved if only the US would drill for more oil is completely fake news.

Until the US builds new oil refineries, which seems unlikely, the USA will always remain the world's largest importer and exporter of oil.

The USA was the world's leading exporter of Liquid Natural gas (LNG) until two large recent explosions in the USA wiped out half of the countries producing capability.

I think the global economy is headed toward the entitled rich getting richer and the working class becoming extremely poor. Focusing on $5.00 gasoline may be selling ourselves short as everything is getting expensive beyond belief.

I have an electric scooter for $2,500.00. Gets me and my backpack to most everywhere I need to go in the city for almost free. More fun than a car.

Futures traders are predicting that because oil demand remains very high and supply is limited and/or hindered by the war in Ukraine with global shipping and port congestion in many places, oil could hit $120.00 barrel by winter. Currently in the $95.00 - $100.00 per barrel range.

So does an electric bicycle but neither is an actual EV.

Say that when it's raining, which happens a lot over here.
In the UK it's illegal to use private electric scooters on roads due to no tax and insurance, in some cases, the police can seize them, 5422 were seized in 2021.

In some counties, you can hire them, these are legal on the roads

... if it rains, I wait for a couple of hours or I drive my car. Since I got the scooter, I buy gas like once a month.

That depends; if you're at the top looking down, it is definitely build back better, but if you're at the bottom looking up, it's anything but build back better.

Where? I paid 4.75/gal on Friday. Down 3 cents from 2 weeks ago.
