Walmart has a 30-day warranty on all electronics.

The warranty is between the manufacturer and the end user. Unless the retailer is a factory authorized servicing dealer, they are not required to honor the manufacturer's.

After that you have to go to the manufacturer. Walmart profits by not telling the customer to contact the manufacturer.

That's interesting - in EU the warranty law is way more customer orientated - it's basicly 24 month for most goods but the crucial period is 6 month within the dealer must prove that the defect did not already existed at the date the product was sold. Even after 6 month most of the "big players" in electronic markets act pretty fair and customer orientated to keep their customers. Manufacturers can also offer their warranty but can basicly just add something to what the law says and never restrict it unless it's for B2B business.

Another truth is that this advantage comes usually with moderately higher retail prices of course.

This is a 30 day return policy, for example you simply change you mind & want an Xbox.

If the item is faulty by law (in the UK) they have to exchange the item, repair it or refund you in full.

I wish it were like that in the US. I even talked to the manager. I told them that I only want to exchange for a PS5 that worked. They wouldn't budge. I found myself starting to get upset and arguing with them. Luckily, I caught myself before I said something that I would regret.
