Report: 50% of Syrian Refugees Still on Government Assistance in Canada 5 Years After Arrival
A recent study showed that roughly 50 percent of Syrian refugees in Canada have still been receiving government assistance five years after entering the country.
Conducted by Statistics Canada, the study showed that “42.3 percent of the 2014 cohort of government-assisted refugees aged 15 to 54 still relied on social assistance six years after landing in Canada,” per True North.
“The situation worsened for subsequent cohorts, with the 2015 arrivals, coinciding with the Liberal government’s initiation of Operation Syrian Refugee, showing a 50.4 percent reliance on social assistance after five years,” noted the outlet.
Social assistance reliance was even higher for the 2016 cohort, while Syrian resettlement continued, with 69.5 percent of government-assisted refugees reporting reliance on social assistance four years after landing,” it added
As Breitbart News reported, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau recently admitted that mistakes were made in his administration in regards to immigration policy. Trudeau said that large corporations, colleges, and universities exploited Canada’s temporary foreign worker (TFW) program to avoid hiring Canadian workers.
“Far too many colleges and universities used international students to raise their bottom line — because they could charge these students tens of thousands of dollars more for the same degree,” Trudeau explained. “And, then there are really bad actors who outright exploit people, who target vulnerable immigrants with promises of jobs, diplomas, and easy pathways to citizenship. Promises that would never come true”:
Trudeau lamented how “when the post-pandemic boom cooled and businesses no longer needed the additional labor help” the Canadian government could have “turned off the taps faster.”
Breitbart News’s Neil Munro has previously reported that public support for the “unlimited supply of cheap foreign labor” in Canada has fallen as Canadians have faced a decrease in their wages, productivity, and wealth.Adversity temporarily visits a strong man but stays with the weak for a lifetime.Comment

The Explosion of Jew-Hate in Trudeau’s Canada
There has been a 670% increase in antisemitic incidents in the past year. ‘It was like a dam burst.’ What happened and why? The Free Press investigates.
‘The Denial Is What’s Painful’
For Sarah Rugheimer, a professor of astronomy at York University in Toronto, the first sign of the virulent strain of antisemitism now embedded in Justin Trudeau’s Canada appeared on a lamppost.
It was a few weeks after the Hamas massacre of last October 7. Rugheimer, 41, was walking in a park near her home in the city’s quiet Cedarvale neighborhood when she saw a poster of the Israeli hostage Elad Katzir, a 47-year-old farmer from Kibbutz Nir Oz, covered with swastikas.
In the days that followed, as the war raged in Gaza, swastikas turned up all over Cedarvale. They also started appearing on the York campus, where Rugheimer serves as the Allan I. Carswell Chair for the Public Understanding of Astronomy. As fall turned to winter, a swastika showed up in the snow outside the campus building where she works.
An astrophysicist with a particular interest in the origins of life on Earth and the possibility of life on other planets, Rugheimer tended to confine her worldly concerns to scientific matters. So the swastikas came as a shock. But worse was to come.
She grew up in Montana, and her academic career took her around the world—from a PhD in astronomy and astrophysics at Harvard University to Scotland, England, and now Canada. But until taking up her post at York University two years ago, Rugheimer said she’d never encountered any overt antisemitism. Nor had she given much thought to her identity as a Zionist: Like the vast majority of Jews around the world, Rugenheimer believes in Israel’s right to exist.

Dictatorship of Canada.
Mayor's bank account garnished by LGBT group after town refused pride proclamation
he mayor of a small town in Ontario, Canada, is facing a bank levy from his personal account following a legal battle with a pride group who compared their legal victory to sexual intercourse.
Mayor Harold McQuaker of Emo, Ontario, had funds garnished from his personal bank account following his refusal to comply with a Human Rights Tribunal order after the governing body found that the town of Emo — with a population of just 1,400 — violated the Ontario Human Rights Code by not recognizing LGBT pride month.
The decision stems from a legal case initiated by Borderland Pride, a local lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) advocacy organization, which accused the township of discrimination for voting against an official pride month proclamation in 2020.
The tribunal's ruling, delivered on Nov. 20, penalized McQuaker personally with a CA$5,000 fine (about $3533) and required him to undergo Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) training. Additionally, the township itself was fined CA$10,000 (about $7066), and the two other town councilors who voted against the proclamation were also mandated to complete the same training.
McQuaker, 77, vocally opposed the tribunal's decision, referring to the financial penalty as "extortion."
"I utterly refuse to pay the $5,000 because that's extortion," he told the Toronto Sun earlier this month.
Despite his protests, Borderland Pride took to social media to announce that they had successfully garnished the mayor's bank account.
"Sure, sex is great, but have you ever garnished your mayor's bank account after he publicly refused to comply with a Tribunal's order to pay damages?" the group asked in a post on Facebook.
Borderland Pride Director Douglas Judson, an attorney, later described the mayor's refusal to pay a "public temper tantrum" and that the group "intend[s] to collect our judgment."
A spokesperson for Borderland Pride said they have not yet garnished the township's funds as they await further legal proceedings regarding the fine imposed on the town.

The shit show that is Justin Trudeau may be coming to an end.
Justin Trudeau 'is on brink of resigning' as his liberal government crumbles
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is on the brink of resigning as his liberal government crumbles around him, according to CTV News.
Trudeau, 52, is 'considering his options as leader', sources have told the broadcaster, while his Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland revealed she will quit.
Freeland quit on Monday after clashing with Trudeau on issues including how to handle possible U.S. tariffs, dealing a huge blow to an already unpopular government.
In a stinging resignation letter, Freeland dismissed Trudeau's push for increased spending as a political gimmick that could hurt Ottawa's ability to deal with the 25 percent import tariffs U.S. President-elect Donald Trump says he will impose.
The resignation by Freeland, 56, who also served as deputy prime minister, is one of the biggest crises Trudeau has faced since taking power in November 2015.
It also leaves him without a key ally when he is on track to lose the next election to the official opposition Conservatives.
Trudeau quickly came under pressure to go from the New Democrats, the smaller opposition party which earlier this year pulled its unconditional support of the minority Liberal government but has continued to back the prime minister on some legislation through parliament.
'I'm calling on Justin Trudeau to resign. He has to go,' party leader Jagmeet Singh told reporters, the first time he has unequivocally called on the prime minister to quit.

How Trump divided Trudeau and Freeland

OTTAWA — President-elect Donald Trump’s tariff wars have claimed their first casualty: Canada’s Chrystia Freeland.
“The Great State of Canada is stunned as the Finance Minister resigns, or was fired, from her position by Governor Justin Trudeau,” Trump shared on Truth Social late Monday night. “Her behavior was totally toxic and not at all conducive to making deals which are good for the very unhappy citizens of Canada. She will not be missed!!!!”
Freeland made a dramatic exit from Trudeau’s Cabinet on Monday, citing differences with Trudeau over economic policy and Trump’s tariff threats. In her resignation letter, she warned that how Canada deals with Trump “will define us for a generation, and perhaps longer.”
The bombshell announcement ended Freeland’s run as deputy prime minister and Trudeau’s trusted right hand, especially during the first Trump administration when the president reopened continental trade talks that posed a primordial threat to the Canadian economy.
Six years later, Trump has driven the leaders apart with a threat to impose 25 percent tariffs on Canadian imports.
Freeland was conspicuously absent last month when Trump welcomed Trudeau to Mar-a-Lago for dinner. The prime minister instead jetted to the Nov. 29 meeting in Florida with his longtime friend and confidant Dominic LeBlanc, Canada’s public safety minister.
Freeland dismissed her absence as jurisdictional — the border falls into LeBlanc’s portfolio, so he was better suited to break bread with Trump’s people. Yet it was Freeland who’d been front and center during Trump’s first administration as the political lead of the Canadian team renegotiating NAFTA.
That role made her a target — even as she hosted a homemade dinner for trade czar Robert Lighthizer in her Toronto home. Trump was openly critical of her negotiation style. “We don’t like their representative very much,” he said at the time.
In Monday’s letter, Freeland cited differences with Trudeau over economic policy and Trump’s tariff threats. And LeBlanc meanwhile accepted a new invitation from Trudeau — taking over from Freeland as finance minister. She accused Trudeau of tying one hand behind her back when it came to spending that would strengthen Canada’s hand with Trump.
Monday’s exit won’t spell the end of Freeland’s decade-long political career, which followed several decades as a journalist — during which she chronicled the fall of the Soviet Union. For now, she’ll remain as an MP in a seat on the government’s backbenches — well behind Trudeau but with her options still open to someday run for his job.
