I honestly don't know if that is blessing or not.

I think I know what I said. NEVER EVER EVER have I said that all of NATO should be lumped in the 2% basket. You don't think I know that some NATO countries are paying 2%? C'mon, now. This isn't the first time that I've broached this subject.

I don't like when folks put words in my mouth. What I said is that all of the other countries in NATO can't defend themselves. Everyone should know that I was talking about China or Russia. Of course they can defend themselves against some countries but that's irrelevant as China and Russia is THE THREAT.

By the way, besides the USA, what country can defend themselves against China and Russia?

What are the most powerful military countries in NATO after the USA? Which one can beat Russia or China? I don't think any of 'em can.

Is Canada paying their fair share in NATO? Let's hear it, oh great debater.

Nope. Canada is not putting 2% of their GDP into military spending. And before you yell "pay your share!", I personally have nothing to do with it.

Canada isn't alone. The majority of the countries in NATO have promised for years to get to the 2% threshold. A few have actually stepped up to the plate. Even still, the USA is the only free country that is capable of defeating China or Russia.

If we want to get truthful, Canada and many other NATO members are putting other countries at greater risk because they aren't prepared like they should be. I don't know why anyone would be offended by me saying that. It's the truth.

What you aren't saying is that 2% is an arbitrary number and has little bearing on whether a country can defend itself or not.

No disagreement there. Which is exactly the reason that I said that no other country in NATO can defend itself. Only the USA is prepared.

PS - While I agree that 2% GDP is an arbitrary number that doesn't predict military readiness...at least its a benchmark. And most NATO members can't meet that. And if you look at the countries that aren't paying their fair share, I bet most are very liberal/socialist.

Not making excuses, but yesterday was a tough day for me. Sometimes when I'm trying to make a point, I let me emotions get the best of me and that's what happened yesterday.

I want to apologize to slim first and foremost. He's always been respectful and helpful to me. My apologies, sir.

Secondly, I want to apologize to anyone else that I may have offended. Not bsm2 or copier addict. But everyone else.

But it's better to keep your mouth shut and ears open that is what I do when feeling mad, as they say - it's not accidentally that people have 1 mouth and 2 ears.
