    How times have changed

Got a call from a customer, having printing issues with an MFP. (elementary school).
Said they had an "out of control" student that jumped onto the machine and "started pulling
wires out of the back" and now it won't copy or print.

Well, back in MY DAY, that kid would get a good ole spanking at school, and another from
his mom/dad when he got home and WOULD NOT do it again.

Today, they would offer them a cookie, ice cream, participation trophy etc.

I hear you brother this is so pandemic it started with disrespect within families and is now out of control everywhere in society.
A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.

Lol! At one of the Special Ed buildings we had one of the special ed kids try to remove the screen from a bizhub 951. He was not successful in removing it, but did manage to break it and bend up the articulating arm. When I wrote the bill for $2000 to the school district, I got the response you might expect: " ... but we have a Service Agreement!!!" I was prepared with a copy of that service agreement, and gave the explanation.

"Well, we'll just bill the students parents!!!" Good luck with that. This is a poor school district, I'll be very surprised if that students parents can be coerced into paying, or have the money. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
