    [People] Hoarders

Anyone work with one of those "hoarders" that collects and hangs onto every piece of anything they can and leave it around the office?

I may have been guilty of said practice. Trouble is, you really do need that piece of junk a week or two after ya ditch it in the bin.

I'm guilty too, I save all this stuff because I know I'll need it someday. Then when I need it I can't find it because I've got so much stuff and no real method to where to keep it.
It does feel good when I get fed up take it all to the dumpster, only to start collecting again.

I've got a pretty extensive graveyard. It's saved me many a time. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
        1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
        2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
        3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
        4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
        5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

We've started to throw out some of the junk I keep. The day after we needed 2 parts out of what we threw away. Since it was not my decision to throw it away in the first place I got to smile at the boss and tell him he'll have to order it from some other place.
But, seriously, there is no way to keep everything.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

We had a guy retire from the workshop who was a hoarder.

Someone was moving into his place and before he retired went through his stuff and filled up two dustbins.,,

Typewriter parts and our company doesn't even sell typewriters.

Worn out feed rollers from machines that were discontinued probably 15 years ago.

Equipment and parts I understand, I do the same. But more random things, metal plates, packing, rods, boxes, etc...

Never quite understood why someone would hold onto something that has no real worth-then I think about why my wife keeps me around.......
