                Poland - gas prices

Gas prices here are only a bit higher than in the majority of other EU member states. We pay for unleaded petrol the same price as for the diesel oil: around 4.6 zloty per litre, which equals 1.4 euro or $2.

For gallon (=3.785 litre) the price would be c.a. $7.5.

                So please, don't complain, people!

I have the right to complain

In Norway the price is 13,5Nok pr liter = $2.51 pr liter = about $9.51 pr gallon.
We produce fare more oil than we use, but have the worlds highest environmental tax on fuel.
I think we have about 70% tax on gas, and another 25% vat on the total sum again. I used to drive an old wreck, and every time I filled her up - the value of the car increased by 40%.

We have probably the worlds highest car prices as well. A VW Caravell with 4x4 and 2,5 liter diesel engine cost $158225 ! !
                      I rest my case.

When I was in Venezuela I paid less for a tank of gas then 1 liter in Norway.
Imagine how this gas price affect the prices in Norway. EVERYTHING gets VERY expensive because people and goods need transportation. People demand higher wages, and everything gets even more expensive. Companies gets less competitive, and can only focus on high tech products. We've hardly been able to manufacture consumer goods the last 20 years. Products like Car tires, washing machines, garden tools, clothing, shoes and so on is almost out of the question. To labour consuming.

If you work at McDonalds in Norway you make about $21.40 an hour, in the US it's about $6.50?

I got a good chuckle out of that statement, you made my day. The price of crude has been dropping and fuel prices have been slowly declining here. Gasoline got up to about 5.00 a gallon but I fueled up yesterday for 3.67 a gallon. The truckers and other diesel users are still getting hammered with big prices though.

Yea, gas is about $3.40 a gallon here in Long Island NY. But we can go to NJ and pay about $2.90 a gallon and in NJ they have a great law, no self serve gasoline. Of course you have to take the bridge to Staten Island for $10, then another bridge to NJ for about $7.
Everything in NY costs more and you get a little less AND with an attitude.
I'm not from here though, I'm originally from Philly but I escaped.
