Re: Impressions from Presidential Debate
I never thought that the words Mitt Romney and pwnt would ever be in the same sentance...but that's what Romney did last night to Obama....Obama was really struggling last night.....He had to invoke Bill Clinton's name twice.....but I do have to give Obama credit on one thing...at least he didn't blame Bush last night...."In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

Re: Impressions from Presidential Debate
DISCLAIMER: I AM A KOOL-AID DRINKING OBAMA SUPPORTER
On facts and information, President Obama provided more actual information BUT, Obama looked bothered to be there, spent way too much time looking down and completely failed to counter most of the points Governor Romney's made. I knew that this debate style was going to be good for Romney and Romney seemed to be enjoying the evening and that helped him a lot. Jim Lehrer let the conversations go on too long and at times seemed out of control, for a guy with a great reputation as a debate moderator this wasn't his best showing.
Overall Obama held his own and did OK at best, Romney clearly exceeded all expectations and therefore was the winner of the debate.
Next debate is a "town hall" style that Obama is know to excel at so we will see if Obama can tie it up.Comment

Re: Impressions from Presidential Debate
I will give credit to Obama on this as well. He was respectful and left his campaign dirty tactics out of it. So he gets another point on that. It was good to see them actually debate ideas as opposed to slinging mud."In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

FactCheck.org : Dubious Denver Debate Declarations
Mitt was surely the calmer of the two and came off looking more secure than the POTUS.
Above link helps clarify the talking points presented by both, IMHO."You can't trust your eyes, if your mind is out of focus" --Comment

Most of the news folks said Romney did a better job. I think so.
I liked it when they shock hands before and after the debate. Gentlemen. To bad they have to throw mud when they get out on the campaign trail.Comment

I still give Mittens the win last night but I'm glad to see FactCheck breaking down some of the bull shit. I just wish Obama would have done it himself last night.
But I will leave you with this joke:
Snow White, Superman and Pinocchio are walking along.
They see a sign: "Contest for World's Most Beautiful Woman." Snow White goes in, later comes out smiling, wearing a crown.
They walk along and see another sign: "Contest for World's Strongest Man." Superman goes in, later comes out smiling, wearing the belt.
They walk along and see a sign: "Contest for World's Greatest Liar." Pinocchio goes in, later comes out with his head down crying.
"Who the hell is Mitt Romney?" Pinocchio sobs.

Re: Impressions from Presidential Debate
Romney handled the debate like a salesman, Obama like an educator.
That look Obama had throughout - it's the same look I get when my kids yammer on about why they don't need to clean their rooms, do the dishes, do homework, et cetera.“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'” (Isaac Asimov)Comment

Re: Impressions from Presidential Debate
Obama was pver a knee and spanked because he has no idea how to deal with people that challenge him. Minus the Univsion interview give me an example of when he has?Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.Comment

Style over substance. For as much as CTN hates salespeople, they're pretty quick to line up behind the epitome of one.“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'” (Isaac Asimov)Comment

Speaking of Univision.....You think Obama is regretting putting the Univision owner's wife into a UN diplomatic appointment after they asked him hard serious questions?"In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it."

Re: Impressions from Presidential Debate
Obama better hope an asswhuppin' is covered under Obamacare... oh, wait - he exempted himself from it.
Romney came out on top - Nobody is arguing with that, but the debates don't matter, just as EVERYTHING either of them say while running for office doesn't matter. What matters is what they've actually done when they're NOT running for office.
Honestly, I'm not really happy with either candidate. To be fair I have to state that I detest Obama, but I only dislike Romney. (And kinda like Ryan) There's only a few shades of grey between them because they're both politicians.
The more government we have, the more opportunity there is for corruption - so we have Chicago politics vs. Bain Capitol politics. Personally, I'm voting for the guy who knows how to run a business and at least says he's for smaller government.
Maybe he'll actually read the bills before signing them. Maybe he won't block offshore drilling when gas prices are through the roof. Maybe he wouldn't block the Keystone pipeline and have Canada negotiating with China to ship all that oil. Maybe foodstamps families wouldn't have doubled, because those families might be able to get a job if all the employers aren't being crippled with taxes, stupid policies, and Obamacare penalties for every extra employee they hire. And speaking of Obamacare, maybe my insurance rates would only go up 20% instead of 80% - or maybe we could put some real competition into the system and they might actually go down.
Maybe none of that will happen, but even the cover story on USA Today last week says Red States are showing substantial job growth, Blue states are still stagnant at best. Things that make you go Hmmmm....73 DE W5SSJComment

Re: Impressions from Presidential Debate
Romney acted like a little kid in a candy store--obnoxious.
Here is an idea!:
Romney: pound the same points throughout the entire campaign without really saying anything and you will win the debate! (Oooops. you already did that--what a genius!)
The moderator (forgot his name and too lazy to look it up) looked like he needed a nap.
My question is:
What is Romney running for that Obama isn't?
The fact of there matter is that they are playing on the same basal platform--either way, we just might have to stick to fixing shyt (or in my case breaking shyt...lol).Comment
