End all foreign aid, you gotta start somewhere.
And just imagine the mess he'll inherit if he gets reelected... But let's be real here - most of the factors responsible for the collapse were started well before Bush - most of them (like forcing freddie and fannie to float loans to people they KNEW couldn't afford them) were pushed by the liberals - and some were just plain stupid on both sides.

I agree about ending most foreign aid... Temporary, short term aid isn't so much of a problem (Earthquake in Haiti. Tsunami. Hurricane.) It's the continuing aid to places where their own government isn't doing it's job - especially places that would just as soon we dropped dead - that needs to end... they can hate us for free.

Reagan engineered the fall of communism in Russia, and took the failed policies of Carter (and if you really want to get down to it, Reagan inherited a bigger mess than Obama) and created an economic boon that lasted until the Democrats took control of both houses of congress. There were a lot of other screwed up policies from so-called conservatives, but the theory of letting the free market be free to create jobs without excessive taxes and regulation has been pretty well proven. The problem comes in when you start ignoring real problems, and introducing stupid regulation. We as consumers also share part of the blame for favoring the cheapest product / service, rather than the most valuable product / service... can I get an "Amen" from the independent copier guys/gals here.

Favoring the cheapest pushes companies to cut corners and produce inferior products. It costs us more in the long run because these things just don't hold up - you really do get what you pay for. If we were smart consumers we'd realize that $12 made in china toaster that burns up after a year isn't really a good value compared to the $20 made in America version that only gets canned because the art deco look went out of style. Homegrown carries a little pride with it... and it's also a lot easier to find a neck to choke if the products / company "don't do right". Heck, even if it isn't any better you still supported jobs here at home, and kept your money circulating in our economy.

I don't understand this new global economy. It's great to be part of world trade, but it seems we're trading jobs for... ??? Well, what are we trading our jobs for? Reagan understood that - The job of government is to take care of YOUR country - let the rest of the world take care of itself.

Just my $0.02 - Take it for what it's worth because you're still about 2 bucks short of getting a cup of coffee.

Right shadow, buy from the USA if you can. That keeps Amercans working. I bought Danner boots last yesr. Made in the USA. $260. Damn. They had Danner boots for $80. Made in China. Screw em.

Needed a cordless drill. When to Home Depot . Milwakie , Skill, etc. all made in China. Just about every company has been bought out .People get what they pay for. Sometimes you pay for someone in this country to be laid off and lose there job.

      Thank the good old unions.

While I agree with spending a little more to buy American, it is not possible to buy certain things with the "Made in the USA" label. These would include televisions, spoons and forks, light bulbs to name a few.
GI Joe, the real American hero, is made in Asia.
Try finding steel. How many guys do you see in the bar that just got off from a long day at the foundry?
My beloved Fender Stratocaster is now made in Mexico.
Barbie, a truly American product, is no longer made in America. On a side note, if Barbie were real she would be 6ft tall, weigh 100lbs, and her measurements would be 39-19-33. Only in America.

Our biggest exports are fuel, airplanes, semiconductors and cars.

And we still make the most lethal weapons money can buy.

If you really wanna go back, blame Reagan. He is the one who removed the restrictions for the banking industry.

Let's call it a "pre-existing condition". Rather appropriate I would think.

I'm looking forward to tonight's VP debate....it's kinda like that anticipation for the big game coming up...which is odd since it's just the VP's....but I really like Ryan...he's a sharp to the point kinda guy....as for Joe...sure he's that creepy uncle we all try not to admit but I kinda like Joe as well because he's not really a crazy lefty liberal....he's pretty much your old school democrat that just got adopted by the far left leaning radicals....I have a lot of respect for Biden(Well when he's not saying crazy things).....his son served in Iraq...and Joe Biden was the one while in the Senate that passed bills to make sure we had better equipment while over there....so I do have to give him points for that....but I'd say I still gotta go with Ryan....

My sister in law listened to the debate last night while I was watching it. She is Latino, 18, and liberal. She said Romney won.

Yes , I watched the debate ..... the whole thing was not really worth watching .
Of course the media will say that obama won.
                            Personally ..... I don't think either one made a good showing .

Missed this one, and was more interested in seeing it than the first one. The "Town Hall" debate at least had opportunity for somebody to sneak in a real question rather than the predictable canned stuff fed to them the first time. Guess it didn't matter since all I expected to hear was politically correct canned answers anyway - I was more interested in seeing how they would squirm at any tough questions, and what shots they would fire at eachother.

I stand by my original statement - It doesn't matter what is said on the campaign trail, that's the election, it's more important what has been done when the spotlight wasn't on them.

Toss up as far as who won.

But the moderator was helping Obama a lot. She had trascipts right in her hand about Obama saying Libya was a terror attack???He did not say that. WTF. Did she have every transcipt that Obama and Romney ever said. OR JUST THAT ONE. Romney was set up. She is a sorry excuse for a reporter. Very bias.
