.....or is it right that I'm bugged by posters using an overload of acronyms, not using capitals where needed and leaving out spaces?

Even when using smart-phones for posting I still think it is a matter of politeness to take a little more time to put up a post in proper written language and not in texting style acronyms.

I Agree 100%.
One of my biggest pet peeves are the posters that say things like. ' machine abc, error message xyz. URGENT! thanks in advance".
My only defense is to slather them in negative rep, but they just keep coming.

They are generally the people that have NEVER offered solutions themselves.
They are also un-ashamed to admit that they have done nothing to try and solve the problem themselves, or are often just too lazy to include that info in the initial post, and their 'thanks in advance' is usually the only appreciation they'll ever give

It occurs to me that this may be a completely seperate rant, but I still feel better for it.

My solution is simple. Whether here or Facebook or where ever I see that. I ignore them. I won't waste my time trying to decipher that junk.

Sometimes I forget that your first language is German. Your English is better than most of the English speakers here.

Thanks Cat. My first language is Dutch since I'm Dutch However, I lived the largest part of my life in Germany where I still live and work most of the time.

That's not fair. Most of us can't compete with that, taking our wife out to dinner in Las-Vegas.....

My wife would love that too but she has to be satisfied with a joint in the Black-Forest.

ddude, ofcourse I meant with "joint" having dinner in a little less sophisticated local place.

I must be old as well .....

When I was in school, we had to learn how to spell ; how to write complete sentences ;
how to write term papers ; etc. !
Do they even do that in school now ?
The schools try to excel in Math and Science; which is a very good thing . BUT ;
If the student cannot write about their findings or discoveries ... what good is that !
