I couldn't stand it if I had to work in the same office day after day. I love the interfacing with customers. I enjoy the challenge when you get a difficult fault and the satisfaction you feel when you resolve it. And I love working in a predominantly male environment, I probably shouldn't say this, but most women have very boring topics of conversation, I don't want to talk about babies, shopping, soap operas or reality TV thank you.

"Most"? All I know, my wife included. Thank God my daughter is an exception. With her I can discuss at least politics.

No question, it's the varying environment, the different sites and types of persons that clients are.

Most of the people where I work all agree that we are all dysfunctional and the company we work for puts up with us.

I've done office work. I was in supply for many years and sat behind a desk for most of the day. I like this job becuase I do get ot get out 99.5% of the days and customers are genuinly happy to see me. When I tell them I have to order the part they need, while not happy about being down, they know I've got the answer to their problem. While in supply if I didn't have their part, I'd get "You should always have what I need, jackass" attitude and look. Plus, when I first started here, the guy who trained me told me that no matter how badly the economy tanks, people will always need their copiers working.

I love the freedom, I love driving and after nearly 10 years doing this I am finally realizing that the world will not end if a photocopier is down.

Money. The same reason anyone does any job for any length of time. I needed it because my wife and kids had grown accustomed to little luxuries like eating and sleeping indoors.

When the asylum closed, they had to release me into the community....I realised that if I become a copier tech...no one would notice my lack of sanity...and I was allowed sharp objects again...I've manged to keep up the pretence of "sanity" for 35 long years now..I still love these sharp objects I'm allowed to play with everyday

Seriously though. It's one of the better jobs to have out there. The alternative could be digging ditches or something worse. Not knocking those that do if they enjoy it though..
