I've been wearing the same G-Shock G-7100 since 2003 and still going strong, however I do take it off when working inside machines.

One soldier came back with a knock off designer watch he bought from an Iraq man. He only paid $35 for it. Went to see if it was worth getting the crystal replaced and the jeweler wouldn't touch it. Said he wasn't insured to work on it. Told the guy it was real and worth about $25, 000. He figured it must have been stolen when Iraq invaded Kuwait.

Yeah, I wear one. I have a velcro wrist strap and if I ever need to take it off to work on a machine, I put the watch on the shoulder strap of my tool bag. Won't ever forget it. My phone gets put on the strap as well.

No watch either and I went with a tungsten wedding ring that you can't scratch. I didn't believe the jeweler until we took the ring outside and scratched the concrete with it.

            I wore a Timex up until 1978.

In 1978 I was working part-time at a sheet metal shop. I have always been energetic, but especially when I was 16.

Speed walking around the corner of a big press, I had hooked the watch band on something. Due to my momentum, the watch pulled up over my shoulder, and the metal stretch band left red stripes from elbow all the way up. It took a pair of snips to remove the watch, and that was the last time I wore one.

On formal occasions I have a couple of pocket watches, but that doesn't happen very often. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: Do you wear a watch?

I always wear a watch, I have to as otherwise people make fun of the tan line on my wrist.
Most of the time I'll wear my old Timex Expedition, as it's built in compass was useful enough when I was probably in the Army Reserves to get it a lifetime exemption from being smashed with a hammer. I had a Benrus self winder analog watch that was pretty cool back in the day, but it has a metal band that wore out and I lost it, which is why I will only wear watches with cloth bands, preferably with Velcro closures.

Once the cell phone came about, the watch was done. The start and stop time are all important and you could not count on a clock in every room. Like when I did repairs in correctional houses.

Being an electronic tech, sticking your hands into pieces of equipment will get you the shock of a lifetime if you wear a watch or any metal ring.
I have had several very nice watches, but, went to the inexpensive pocket watches, and would take my ring off and put it on my keychain. Now, I don't wear or carry a watch at all .
While working on a microprocessor in a metal cabinet one day, I sliced my ring finger almost to the bone. Needless to say, I did not put the ring back on: now about 10 years later, it is still on my keychain. The last time I tried to put it on, it was too small to fit comfortably .
I have started carving a new ring out of wood ( Osage ) and will one day have it completed .

Nope. Can't stand anything other than clothes on my body. We were also warned in basic quest to not wear one due to laser safety. I'd like to meet the dumbass who bliinded himself with his watch though so I don't know the validity but if they're warning us about it chances are some guy did it.

Haven't worn a watch since like 2003.. I started wearing one when I was 15 and stopped around 19 or so. I had to work and had to take it off because I had to wash my hands a lot. Got a cell phone around that time, Motorola V300 had a clock on the front, alarm and stop watch built in. No need for a watch after that. Besides, wearing rings or chains or even hats, is uncomfortable to me.
