Re: If you have some time to kill...
He looks a little like that wannabe "Survivor Man", Bear Grylls but snce he didn't stop to drink his own pee before taking the back cover off I figured he was someone else. Cool video, thanks for sharing.Comment

Re: If you have some time to kill...
He sure doesn't know much about copiers if he called a Panasonic DP2310 a "top of the range copier". lol
A definite POS.Comment

That dude got way too much enjoyment out of that. I couldn't think of a worse way to spend my spare time.
On the plus side he does think logically which is a trait I miss in people.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. ~Thomas EdisonComment

Re: If you have some time to kill...
Me too took things apart when I was a kid. I took one of my original NES controllers apart to see how it worked. I also remember taking my dads chainsaw apart into pieces because I wanted to use the parts to build a robot. I was caught in the act with the chainsaw parts all over the floor. He was pretty pissed off on that one.

Although, I did take apart a cheap rechargeable flashlight to see why it didn't work. I found a brown, kind of circular component that has a carbon crater in it (while it was way thicker than a normal ceramic capacitor, I'm now pretty sure that's what it was). I figured that was the bad part, so I removed it and wrapped the wires together to see what happened. When I plugged it in, the resulting arc left a carbon trail on the outlet faceplate that the parental units were not too pleased with.Comment

Re: If you have some time to kill...
He had his analog versus digital technology mixed up, but overall I give him a lot of credit for getting the basic concepts darn close to correct. Certainly a lot better than me when I first started out in this business.
I was cringing the whole time he was putting his fingerprints all over the polygon mirror, and juggling around the imaging unit.
That's quite a toner spot on his finger. Maybe we'll have to amputate.
I generally only wrecked my own stuff as a kid, but my brother "fixed" the folks anniversary clock at about 8 yrs old. It became my job to get the parts arranged well enough to resemble a clock. There was nothing I could do with the yard long torsion spring that he sprung. It never did keep time again. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: If you have some time to kill...
Lol, well this maybe a good video for people that don't have a clue about copiers, but might have a remote interest in how they work...
All in all it was a complete waste of time. I would have taken that pos apart in 2 minutes with an axe.Comment
