Well, It's a no go for the job. The boss asked me to call him this morning which I did and he told me that the last guy who had my job had quit for health issues and now he want's his job back. The boss doesn't want to get sued so I won't be starting tomorrow morning as planned. I'm SO disappointed. Thank you all for your support.

Sucks, sorry to hear it. But now that I know a little about your situation, I won't be giving you a hard time about the manual pitches. So that's something I guess.

          Sorry Paul.
I know I should be ashamed of myself. Strangely though, I am not.

Well that's kinda a bitch. Hire you and then over the weekend the other guy want his job back. OH sure.

Doesn't sound like the owner has it together. ?? Dang . Don't burn any bridges, I bet his employee will have to quit again?

            Hope all goes well.

Can't you instead sue that boss for 'falsely raising your hopes ...for nothing?' The courts of law there could charge him for 'lying' to a respectable citizen of the country, falsely raising your hopes, denying you and your family a livelihood, and the government, taxes which would have accrued from you being employed by him; and also for being 'idle and disorderly'.

Sorry to hear that Paul. I don't know your situation but maybe you can start your own thing. Maybe find a source for used printers and fix them up and sell them. Sell them on the web and down the street. We received several HP printers one time for $25.00 each. We cleaned them up and when someone needed one we sold it to them. Got $175.00 for the first one. Also, if they need service they call us. Oh, and they buy there compatible toners from us. I'm sure, based on the support for this thread, folks will be glad to hook you up with contacts for parts and supplies. I would. Just a thought.

It's a good thought actually. It doesn't take a huge investment starting out small, and on equipment you're comfortable with. You can still buy refurbed LJ4250's and LJ5si's, though I'd lean towards something a little newer.

You've already got the website and advertising structure in place. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                  5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

And I went out and bought a new screw gun too. My old Ryobi died. Bummer! I'll keep the new one though. Its a handy item to have around the house. I went out and bought a jigsaw attachment for it today to drown my sorrows in.

Ben - It's tough making a living at $12.77 at a time. I'm making about 1/2 of what I made before the market crash. A big sale for me is $65.00 for firmware, and I split that with the guy who gets it for me. I pay for my sales pitches through my banner ad and donations to the site.

                      Regards;

Been very busy lately, not time to do too much other than post the daily joke. I come in here, find this thread, read through it thinking I'm gonna congratulate Paul - then I hit page 4. That's a super shitty thing for that guy to do, what a scumbag. I can't say it would be a bad idea to start up small time and fix/resell those little HPs, however. eBay is a great resource for it, I'm sure!

Paul, I know your a responsible contributing member of the forum and not some spam jockey looking for someone to rip off. Chances are I'll be using your service down the road. I usually turn away repair business when it's a brand we don't have dealer support for. Mostly because of the lack of technical documentation. But like everybody else I need more business, so I've decided to start accepting repair jobs on pretty much any model that we get asked to look at.

So any shots I took at you in the past about your manual pitches, I apologize for. I didn't really understand you at the time.
