Grease for moving parts

    Grease for moving parts

    Need some all or multi-purpose grease for copiers and printers...
    Will not be servicing Xerox's.
    Could someone point me into the right direction to purchase a few tubes / jars?
    Specialty grease advice is appreciated too, esp. for copiers - what to get?
    Moly, graphite, etc...

    I've already been to Walmart and Autozone; Couldn't really find anything useful but
    then again, I'm in a small town.

      Superlube grease and oil. Good to high temps. I use it for fuser drives. Available from Harbor Freight, sometimes Menards. It's the only lube I carry.

          It is rare that anything on a copier or printer would need anything that and average person would call "Grease". Cleaning will fix many of your problems, thoroughly cleaning will fix most of your problems and if you must use a lube I would recommend a pen style oiler with some sort of synthetic oil.

          Superlube is the way to go, works in all temp ranges and it doesn't collect dust like most non-synthetics do, and just like T-Bomb it's been the only thing in my bag for 15 years. Did I mention that cleaning will fix most of your noise issues?

              High temperature rated Krytox from DuPont works pretty good for almost everything, as long as you don't have to repack Riso air pumps.
              I don't know if it is available anymore, but I used Slick 50 One Lube for quite a while with good results.

                  These are the "greases" that I still carry, but honestly don't use very frequently any more:

                  White Lithium Grease: for plastic-on-plastic or plastic-on-metal applications
                  IBM 23: for greaseable spring clutches
                  Molycote HP-500: for high temp applications, like Sharp creaky fusers
                  The original Marvel Mystery Oil (made with real seal oil): for Canon plastic wrap feed clutches (NP-2020)
                  Straight Weight W30 Motor Oil: for scanner rails (stays where you put it)
                  3-In-1 Machine Oil or Triflow: for bronze oil impregnated bushings
                  Fuser Oil: to extend the life of fuser cleaning felts and to keep thermistors clean

                  Many of these are now unnecessary, and when they're consumed will not be refilled. =^..^=
                  If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                  5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
