If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I try to be as thorough as I can in the description of an issue, but It's often the questions I'm asked about it, that get me travelling down the road to a solution.well stated!
I'm with sandmanmac and BC on these also!!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of firmware...........We have to stop calling it frimware or frimwar. I have a function on my site where I can monitor who is on the site and what their searching for. I see guys in the advanced search page searching for FRIMWARE. Sheesh! I now have a link on my main page telling folks to contact me for firmware. I don't keep it on the site.
Well I could babble away for hours but I'll close up now. Again..........I wish to thank my friends and customer's on this site for their support and purchases. I do give out manuals sometime to folks that actually help other people and who are my friends.

          Best Regards to all,

          Paul

Paul congrats on the 10K !!!!!!I think you are a great asset to the consortium!!!!!!!!!! I for one remember when I first found your site and purchased HP manuals. It helped me immensely. I thank you for your support of the site and look forward to helping each other out in the future.
I know you can see that the regular collective are glad to have you here !!!

As for the FRIMWAR It's still FRIMWAR,sorry Paul, I believe it started from our friend ZAZA back in the day, and it stuck!! You could put a link on your site for FRIMWAR though.................Peace................

Of course, that was before they had colour (going UK English ), when they were either white or black spy's.

It was zaza who came up with Frimwar or frimware. That's how Google translated for him and it stuck here. That's a little inside joke that the regular users know. And contrary as to what he says, Paypal doe accept payments from Algeria, he's just too cheap to buy a manual. The only countries where PayPal doesn't take payments from is Nigeria, Iran and Sri Lanka.

Now another reason why I post so much is because Google crawls this site, and the more links I have to it, the better for me. Also, even if a guy says he has the manual, someone else with the same problem reading a thread may not. So I give them my sales pitch anyhow. I've just restarted advertising on Google again after a 5 year lapse. Business sucks and I need to drum up more business.
I've had some problems with a few manufacturer's over the years and I've had to take steps to have those manuals online but not show up on the menu. I have a spreadsheet that my programmer made up for me that has the direct links to Canon, HP and Xerox. So if you need something from those manufacturer's you'll have to email me and I'll get right back to you with a direct link. What a PITA. Canon seems to have a real hard on for me. They don't bother any of my competitors, just me. And with HP and Xerox, I have customers' form the domains of hp.com and xerox.com. They buy manuals of other manufacturer's to see what the other guy is doing.

                          And so it goes........

When I did work in the field I was only an ole printer guy. I thought that when I got into the manuals thing, I would be able to learn copier repair. Well I've been selling manuals for 12 years and I don't know a thing about copiers. When I go to my Dr's office I'm always asking to look at their copier because I never see one in the 'flesh'
I wish to thank all of my friends and customer's on this site for their support. About every 3-4 months as you all know, somebody comes down on me (usually a newby) for my posts and I am humbled by the responses my friends give to these clowns. When I first started advertising here, I used to give out answers to error codes but then I realized I was spending far too much time here and it wasn't in my best interest to give out this info. Now they get my sales pitch instead. By the way.......I have an MS keyboard that has 18 programmable function keys on it so I just hit the S1 key and out comes the sales pitch. I just adjust the italics and color on it and I'm all set.
My programmer just installed a new chat thingy on my site and I'm working to try to figure out how it works. (No docs.) The other day, I had a guy in chat from Egypt. He was looking for a cd player service manual which I did have. So after wasting 20 minutes with this guy he tells me he doesn't want to pay for it and I should give it to him for free. I could feel the steam emanating from my ears I was so pissed. But I have to be polite to everyone. Sometimes it's tough. As most of you know I do have somewhat of an attitude problem. It's gotten better now that I'm getting older but I do take 2 anti-depressants. My happy pills. Out of all the drugs I've ever taken, the anti-depressants are by far the best. (Except for maybe pot). But I've been cutting down on that lately as business has taken a downturn. I just re-started my Google adwords again and I'm hoping that business picks up. It's tough making a living at $12.77 a pop. I do sell some firmware here and there but depending who and how I get it, it can be a big sale for me. I sell it for generally $65.00 and I throw in the service manual.
Speaking of firmware...........We have to stop calling it frimware or frimwar.
