    Re: That feeling...

your in a good mood and do a pm to a copier and when finished it error codes, or you break something (and get that warm feeling over your body and think what the!) and have to order it because they are down. Then you have to tell customer.

I went to an out of town team meeting a few months ago. Long drive, so I dressed somewhat casually to be comfortable driving.

I alternate between two pairs of identical black dress shoes for work. Found out 30 minutes before the meeting that I packed 2 lefts.

Had to wear my tennies to the meeting. Ugg.

Or KM 6030 drum section pulled out took cleaning unit out to vacuum it out and customer decided to pass, "Sure Miss, no problem " slinged the drum section in and only to hear plastic crushing noise and spring flying, she must felt that I am just falling in love with her, judging from the color of my face... Those clips took 3 1/2 months to get to us. (White and gray spring loaded) apparetly noone could break them ... Manufacturer said!
Lucky we had spare machine in stock!

... when you're doing a simple cleaning on a color machine and you damage the transfer belt that has been replaced less than a week ago! (Happened to me yesterday)

... when you're replacing a broken guide and when you're stretching the spring that goes with it it slips from your fingers and pewwww! - Flies away in a direction you can't determine at a customer full of stuff everywhere (Happened to me last week).

            Re: That feeling...

C-clips and springs and awkward places in machine I cover the place with rag and only then work with clips and small fall in gearbox bits.

Had one client 230 miles away and went there to sort image issues. PM was done about 6 moons ago. Pulled drum out covered it with rag and put it on floor. Initially lots of spots and streaks on drum. HV contact on back of machine was burned and bent Looked inside the machine and took few shots with my phone of how dusty it was inside. Put the phone on top of doc feeder and carried on working, sudden movement of the phone made my eyes wide open. Saw the fall in Slow-mo...Dang! Right on the drum. Lucky for me when assembled the spots remained so one extra dent didn't make any difference. Phone survived.

Another story: Was new in the game and liked air dusting a lot. Decided to blow the dust from the mirrors. What a fatal mistake. Dust cloud covered the inside of CCD. Spots on copies, had to replace it.

When you drop a screw into an impossible place. Have a c-clip fly across the room, drop a corona wire spring or break a wire with no spare. Resemble a machine to get a code for a loose connector. Or drive a couple 100k's to put paper into the machine.

When you replace the transfer belt on a color machine, boot the machine and hear the sound of the new belt tearing and crinkling as it tracks off the frame.

Time and materials call 3 hours away. As soon as I walk into the room where the machine is located, I smell WD-40. Owner of machine removed some covers and flooded the inside with the shit hoping to eliminate a squeak and avoid a service call.

That was costly, and very billable. =^..^=

When the customer tells you they tried to "clean" the color machine by blowing canned air into it..."Then this cloud of dust came out and got on everything! You are going to clean that up also, aren't you? It is under contract."
