    Re: Humidity?

We are going to convert a room into a curing space, the same system used to for rapidly drying beef jerky. This customer can run thru paper quickly so it needs to take like a 150 reams of paper.

I did think about desiccant, not sure where to get that here. The reams are all in good condition, but i have seen better sealed products.

I wonder if thinner paper would work better.
    Whatever

If they are going to print alot and commit a particular and appropriately sized room space for storing paper, they should buy a plug-in electric dehumidifier!...easy to use and has a settable humidistat control and when the tank gets full, the dehumidifier will automatically shut off! Something to note, if they are on a concrete slab, many times the porosity of the concrete slab can wick moisture up from the ground! What they need to do is seal the concrete AND use a dehumidifier! If they are on an outside wall, they can shelf mount the dehumidifier and plumb the drain out through the window OR, if they have a floor drain they can put a hose down into it from the dehumidifier!

How to build a "Dehumidifier" cabinet.
Buy a small cabinet similar to a bedside table. Drill a hole in the back an run a power lead inside the cabinet.
Fix a 100 watt light bulb to the inside top or bottom panel. Be sure to place a cover or wire cage around the light bulb for protection. Add reems of paper inside the cabinet. Close the door. Turn on the light bulb.

I saw few of these made years ago. You can now buy a proper dehumidifier heater to replace the light bulb.

              Google
              DESICCANT BAGS
They are cheap and safer than a 100 watt bulb next to a flammable source.
Paper dust can ignite when airborne with the right conditions. Check Mythbusters and igniting coffee creamer.

When the paper starts curling again, just tape a new one in the drawer.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

I did change one of the B601 machines LFR, these are heated aswell, I forgot that. They last well.
Did not make any difference. I activated the dehumidifiers on the machine, but they only work with the sub switch off!! That helped a bit.

Still going to look at the B1050. It looks extremely similar to the B1250 and I like them. The only real difference seem to be the absence of a transfer belt.
                Do these machines dump toner?

AFAIK no, they haven't dumped toner for me. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                  5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
