    New Memeber

    Greetings -

I'm just now signing up. I've used these forums as a resource before. I'm an iT consultant in the US. I started my business back in 1997 doing PC desktop support. These days I'm mostly consulting on IT policy and not much else (computers are much more reliable than when I started). Still, I enjoy fixing things. So whenever there is a opportunity to break out the tools and work with my hands I'm glad to do it. Over the years I developed a reputation for keeping those old workhorse printers going. Back in the early days I would proudly take care of HP LJ IIs, IIIs, 4s and 5s with sometimes almost a 1M pages on them (I miss the old HP). Now that many of customers are using desktop color laser printers I'm trying to keep up.

I do often assist in the setup of the higher volume MFPs from Ricoh/Savin and Canon but I leave the nuts and bolts to the techs from the leasing company.

    Which brings me here...

A problem with a Canon ir LBP5460 prompted me to join and speak up. Hopefully what I've found so far can be of help to somebody, but I also need some assistance.

I'm trying to keep another workhorse out of the landfill.

    Thanks for reading.

    Welcome!! =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

If all else fails read the Service Manual!

If that fails, meet me at the pub and we will discuss it.

          Welcome
A tree is known by its fruit, a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost, he who sows courtesy, reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
