I have a KM8030 the fuser web is not advancing. No error code. I have checked the web solenoid, and connection and gears. Getting black streaks on my copies. Has anyone every experienced this?
My bet is that the web is advancing, but not fast enough to keep the heat roller clean. If you've got fairly recent firmware (it's currently 8-16-2010), you can adjust the advance rate for the web.
Firstly, replace the heat roller, cleaning roller, and web. Reset web counter in simulation U909. Then go to simulation U194. Manufacturers recommendation is Count:66, Turns:3, but you may have to go lower. Typically, if I see that the heat roller is building up prematurely, I'll decrease Count by 6 to 8 points.
Here is what you are adjusting:
Count: is the number of copies between advances.
Turns: is the number of solenoid clicks when advancing
At Count: 90, Turns:3, one web is consumed in 500K prints.
At Count: 45, Turns:3, two webs are consumed in 500K prints.
I have a title company that runs primarily legal. They are doing well at Count:45, Turns:3. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
